I tried to report a player for cheating in Firefight, I sent them a screenshot of the scoreboard showing the guy being first with way too many kills (he was one-shotting everything with no reload time). They told me that "acksually I should recorded the gameplay". You mean with all the data they gather on everything they can't be bothered to check on their side if the guy was cheating?!
As for the mic spam, I barely hear people in games these days. Everybody is so scared of getting banned. Even the text chat is silent most of the time.

The cut forerunner forest level would have definitely given the ark the kind of massive superstructure atmosphere it deserved. In the final game it just feels smaller and more confined than Installation 04.

I don't know where that take is coming from. Last time I did Halo 3 matchmaking months ago, I repeatedly ran into a couple of dudes who were being delightfully racist to everyone they were talking to. It was fun.

Its always fun to play a match of halo wars 2 now and again. Wish Creative assembly had been given free reign to just use that IP. Since its not like 343 or microsoft were ever going to use it again. We're coming up on its 10th anniversary and it was a miracle this cursed spinoff IP even got a sequel.

Pretty sure it was the P2W aspect of the controversial blitz gamemode no one played that killed the game before its time. Its a shame. Half of those blitz exclusive unit variants should have been in the base game to add some much needed unit variety.

343 is a blight on human civilization and needs to be shut down. Let Halo go the way of half life for better or worse and MS gets royalties. Its not like halo fans ever had an equivalent to hunt down the freeman outside of anything 343 made like Halo 5. They actually gave a shit about their fangames and mods.

Just did Alpha Moon. I was genuinely surprised by the soundtrack, to the point I stopped playing just to listen. At first I though it was some unfinished work by Marty and Mike but apparently it is not(sorry if late).

The level was far longer than I expected and raw of course but still enjoyable.

The most interesting part to me was how much they were focusing on destructible terrain as a gameplay mechanic at that time. Throughout the mission, you have to use your Wraith to blow up debris from Alpha Halo to progress. I think it probably could have used more iteration (less health on the debris so you could blow it up in one shot and progress faster), but it was neat to see that in a Halo game when it really isn't something that was ever focused on, aside from being able to blow up cars or things like that.

It's a shame that the boss fight at the end was apparently not even close to finished before they had to scrap the level, but maybe an enterprising modder can clean up the control room map and port the Heretic Leader boss in there somehow.

Yeah, there's a few examples of IRL ones that have weirdly placed bends. His stands out because it looks like he just grabbed a piece of straight bar stock and hammered a bend into it before applying an edge, which is about what I'd expect a pressed-for-time Spartan to do.
