My opinion is that it was either when Nick promoted his "racist, anti-Semitic speech" in Texas in July of 2021, or when he praised the Taliban and talked about the need for an American counterpart when they retook Afghanistan in August of 2021; those were when he changed from "young right-winger challenging the status quo" to "sensationalist attention-seeking freak who doesn't actually care about affecting political change." These two events came immediately after his Twitter ban, so ultimately, I think it was getting banned from Twitter and having to resort to being an attention goblin to stay relevant that killed the "optics" concept.

The Kami stream, IBS appearances, etc., weren't "optical," but I would chalk those up to young people having fun online, plus nobody outside of this niche sphere even knows what those things mean.
