Went shopping and with my autistic self, I keep track of all the prices of the things I buy just in case. It's video game autism I figure. Anyhow anyone living someplace where your local green grocer is jacking up the prices ONLY for necessities during this time? I just got hosed an extra 50% on three items, one being milk. And they already jacked up the price on that was just jacked up days before the chinese corona thing took off.

Maybe it's just me, but any of you notice a mark up to screw the customers where you live?

There's a worry that there will be a similar occurrence to the 1973 "Toilet Paper Shortage" in that there will be a disruption between the manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.
Each company has their own idea of what to do and if the trucking outlets shut down because some asshole at the retail store coofed into a driver's mouth then the manufacturers have nowhere to go with their shit. So it's not surprising that retailers are going to try and get as much as they can while the going is good.

Blame the boomer hoarders for once again fucking over the rest of the world while they sit comfy. Supply and demand: they made the demand for certain items skyrocket in the past few weeks with how much they bought, why wouldn't stores supply that and charge higher knowing damn well the morons will gladly pay it if it means they can feel safe and secure grasping on to the last Charmin roll like Gollum and the ring. Meanwhile the normal people just trying to buy the basics get fucked.

Seethe more nothingburger fag, should of prepped re.tard

tard cum supply is so high right now dairy farmers actually had to dump it due to institutional buyers like schools canceling their orders.
Same thing with potatoes, takes massive warehouses full of rotting food to really put into perspective just how much food actually through the supply chain before being processed or served up at some greasy restaurant.

Oh wow things that are high in demand and low in supply are going up in price?
I understand the concept, but like @The_Shadow mentioned, there was no shortage of anything except bread stuffs and toilet paper. Everything else was just fine. I checked the cereal aisle which was loaded, and some of the mark-ups were like multiple dollars for a single box of cereal. And this was in less than a week. And this is also just a couple weeks after some places were selling boxes of cereal for as low as $2 a box. The price stickers on the jacked up stuff were all brand new, and they tried to be jooish and put sale stickers, like the jacked up things were JUST "ON SALE NOW!" even though the prices went up dramatically.
And to be fair I did check things that weren't in high demand and they didn't jack some of those prices up.
I know every single retailer around this area except one Asian grocery store because I'm afraid if I go in there their little under developed daughters would get love sick seeing a strong man with red eyes in a black cloak, so I've scouted out in the last year or so who gouges before this all happened, and who didn't as a rule. I know who were ass munches. I'm glad I'm stocked up already before this outbreak happened so all I needed was bread, hamburger buns and Martin Luther King juice.

Prices are the same here, still put products on offer as well however I wouldn't be shocked if smaller places did that

Fucking butter is now double the price. Meanwhile our local Costco is holding the price firm (mostly) on all essential foods like dairy, eggs, bread, etc.

The grocer around here has been keeping prices more or less the same and they're making a ton of cash. Also every one of their customers is packing so they probably know better than to start messing with prices during a pandemic lockdown.

I’m just trying to get medication for my animals and it’s either out of stock or marked up. Who the hell is out here stocking up on animal dewormer to fight the corona. You sick bastards. (:_(

I checked Aldi's yesterday of all things. Except for one thing, everything was still a low price. I know Aldi's is Aldi's, but I was impressed, and except for hamburger buns, everything was in stock. I know one mexican't store that suck my Wraith.

Make your own toilet paper out of paper towels. Take ownership of the supply/demand dichotomy.
