I would often take out the books from my school library and read maybe the first couple chapters, then get bored and move on to something else. The TV show had already ended by the time I was a kid so I didn't grow up with it. I did watch the show when we first got Netflix cause my younger sister would watch it. She got scared by "Night of the Living Dummy" to the point of having nightmares. Pretty charming and cheesy series like you said, but didn't have as much an impact on me cause I watched it so late.

Also, this is the first I heard of the new series being in production. It makes sense. Surprised Jordan Peele doesn't have anything to do with this.

I'm happy that Jordan Peele doesn't have his "muh racism" hands on it. Good sign so far

Oh God really!! I don't really keep up with the fanbase. That's news to me

Granted a franchise that deals with kid protagonists does seem like it's going to attract pedos saddly
They usually act like it's legit horror and tard screech if you say otherwise

Really? Good lord I mean I would say it's a good gate why to horror for people like me. If it wasn't for Goosebumps I wouldn't have become a fan of horror classics like Nightmare on Elm Street or child's play. But I agree it's not really horror to a adult.

Good lord why to fandoms have to suck

It was because of the dog, wasn't it?

I remember getting into Goosebumps after my English teacher gave me the "A day at Horrorland" book. The show had a certain charm despite being really cheesy.

Are you Afraid of the Dark was definitely more impactful and chilling with the delivery of their stories, their downer endings and memorable episodes like the Tale of the Dollmaker, The Tale of the Thirteenth floor and The Tale of the Quiet Librarian.

I did like the fact Goosebumps had longer story series than AYAOD much more though.
No, just the music alone would make me change the channel, I did not even try to go further.

Necroing this as the new series came out with Say Cheese and Die being the first episode and what do we get?

The jock and the artsy fag apparently being best friends. The jock is trying to set up the artsy and his crush together.

Perhaps, I am just fucking old but as a jock (lacrosse / cross country) and an out fag in high school, I would never have my teammates trying to involve themselves in my romantic life.

Am I just an old bitter faggot or is this an infestation of social justice?

I dunno, maybe both.

P.S. The jock/ artsy fag relationship broke immersion so much I stopped watching.
