I have a super embarrassing question, but could this malware screw up my Internet connection? I sound like an 80 year old woman, but my Internet has been down for 2 days and I'm trying to figure out why.

Chris has finally begun a preemptive strike against us damn, dirty trolls.

With ads from Eastern Europe/China?

I thought the Chinese on my screen were suspicious; your poisonous trojans and crap will NOT be accepted on my hard drive.

It's possible. What's your antivirus program?

I've been getting malware warnings from google since yesterday. Didn't see anything weird before, though.

This is what happens with appeasement. The trolls went soft after Bob died and Chris sensed weakness.

I don't have a program. I knowww I knowww. The Internet went bye bye when I was using the wifi on my iPhone. Can't remember if I was looking at the forum beforehand.

I can't get on the Internet using any of the laptops at home. The "Internet" light isn't on our Verizon modem either.

Get Malwarebytes.

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

When I Googled it to get the link, it showed that there was apparently some bad update failure that they suffered last night, but nothing happened to me. In any case, it's good for removing viruses or whatever.

So now we know why the Internet won't run. In dads rush to leave town for the UAE, he forgot to pay the bill.

I removed what I could find and removed write permission for the source files (something that I didn't think to do last time this happened).

Also change the admin account passwords/ssh keys/whatever, just in case the bastards will be back.

Also might be a great time to make extra backup dumps while you can, in case something even more bastardly is in the horizon.

Didn't read the whole thread to see if anyone has said this, but i work hard for my tugboats as a web developer. Run into this now and then, fix the exploit and then submit a review in google webmaster tools to get the warning removed.

Yeah, that's a good idea.

Yeah, I was planning on doing this today.

Double post because I think the malware reports are gone.

Still there on Firefox for me.

EDIT: It's fine on Google Crum, though.

Still had the "harm your computer" on Google Search.
