I didn't think it was possible to out-shit DONTNOD titles but here we are.
I hope the footage is taken from a half-polished demo version and not the final release, the voice over director did a terrible job and the levels don't sound similar (I'm willing to throw ko_op a bone and assume it's from the meme edits)

If California seceded from the union they would become something like the world's seventh largest GDP overnight. I will say this, maybe, just maybe, that scene happens before the news starts going 24 hours " we are all fucked", in which case talking about the future is acceptable. What I'm a lot more flabbergasted by, is assuming that is indeed the case and this shit lasts like 3-4 hours tops, how it can go from a pre meteor setup, to a post meteor announcement and not have everything devolve into fiery yet peaceful protests. The scope of the game is ruined from the outset purely on how absolutely unreal it all is. You can't do a coming of age story where there is no age to come to, you aren't thinking "how can I grow up! can I be myself and get the understanding of my peers?", you would be thinking "what do I want to do in my final moments? oh god, will I die instantly?! Will I survive and have to become a scavenger and sell my body for protection!?!??!". Yet the game expects you to just go with a standard goodbye college narrative when there is nothing after it and specially in a context where nobody will give half a fuck about validating your retarded teenager takes because there are much bigger fish to fry.
