Oh no question. I have yet to see True Crime podcast merch that doesn't use a lame catch phrase or a godawful pun. But hey, I won't complain about a free podcast selling lame t-shirts.

I’ll probably get a Joe Rogan shirt to see how many bug men are integrating near my area. I moved out of one city which I hated and live in a rural area right next to a city which I’m also beginning to hate.

Interesting, I was also wondering the same thing. Many woman I know also watch True Crime podcasts and I never stopped to think about why until now.

Yeah, a TRE therapist explained this me once and it makes a lot of sense. Apparently he had some patients who went through legit horrible stuff and they sought out body-horror movies and such because that gave them some weird subconscious sense of relief or calm. The human psyche is very strange.

I just started this one last night and if you'll forgive the reaction image:
It's got psychotic stalkers, fringe Christianity mixed with paganism, restraining orders, and as of the most recent episode, a possible troon saga.
The writers and host are also a bit too sympathetic to the psychos, which makes it good if you need something to help you work out (or play Elden Ring) because you're gonna want to punch something.
Editing to add another recommendation.
Listen to this if you want to get frustrated.

Crime weekly is so good. Stephanie Harlowe is awesome. I was really interested in her (maybe like four or five years ago) YouTube channel because I loved her speaking voice because it’s so calming and feminine. Now, I feel like she’s really come into her own as a true crime host. She does such a good job with her research and her respect for the victims of crime. Adding Derek to the mix as a voice with insight into the crime world makes the podcast SO GOOD.

I mentioned Sheila Gregoire in the Quiverfull/Fundie thread and how awesome she is about discussing issues about how the church teaches sex and sexuality, talking about and debunking partriarchal teachings of the church and purity culture, and the damage it has caused for both men and women from a Christian perspective and how it isn't as biblical as these cults think it is.
Well, she has a podcast called Bare Marriage (Formerly to Love, Honor, and Vacuum) where she looks at and reviews a lot of evangelical/fundie best seller books on relationships and sexuality and dating and stuff and analyzes them among other things. She has done stuff like Love and Respect, Every Man's Battle, Sheet Music, Debbie Pearl's book, and more.
She also often has her daughter on who does a lot of psychology research and has actually done a study on 20,000 Christian married women on what they believe, what they were taught, and how it affects them and their sex life and has done a similar study on Christian men and are working on getting their research published. Her husband who is an obstetrician also comes on and talks a lot when they do episodes on books aimed at men and talks about what the church teaches about masculinity and how hurtful it is to men as they made it so they often don't know the difference from noticing a woman is attractive and lust and makes them out like beasts who can't control themselves.
If you were raised conservative Christian or are into laughing at fundies and Christian cults, this is definitely the podcast for you, I love her book analysis episodes, usually she has a theme of an episode and reads passages from Christian best sellers and critiques them. She doesn't try to convert you, infact, she totally understands that people who have been burned by the church walk away and though it saddens her she understands and respects that if that is what it takes to heal.

I like mindless drama and escapism in a podcast, my favorite is Trashy Divorces. It’s about messy high profile relationships.
The hosts are progressive liberals but not to the point it’s annoying to me. They present more research than opinions and stay on topic, it’s less meandering than a lot of podcast tend to be.

Really Graceful is a nice youtube channel that used to do make-up and then veered into conspiracies.

I’m playing into the typical womanly interests. I’ve loved true crime since I was a kid, but the only true crime podcast I can stand is Casefile. I’ve tried giving true crime garage a chance, but it’s too much for me, I guess. I want “just the facts, ma’am” not anyones opinion on it.

I've recently been into another podcast that's part of the same network as the Last Podcast on the Left called Some Where Under Neith.
It's two women doing long form, deep dive episodes on topics such as the murder of Susan Powell, Ghislaine Maxwell's history and arrest, and Shelly Miscavige's past and disappearance. They have a six part series on the Duggar family, their son Josh, and the IBLP in general that I think is interesting to listen to if you don't normally follow other fundiesnark-like media. Recently they've started a series on Appalacha and it's missing girls and women, with the most recent episode talking about the 2021 disappearance of Summer Wells.

A lot of popular podcasters are too woke for my taste, but I have a few favorites. Mad at the Internet is essential for any farmer, but I actually prefer to watch it on YouTube rather than listen. Blocked and Reported is another farmer essential — I’m pretty sure Katie Herzog reads here. I also really enjoy Female Dating Strategy and Female Political Strategy. Feminist Current, the FiLia Podcast, Woman by Definition, and The Same Drugs are TERF essentials, even though I’m not crazy about Meghan Murphy as a host/interviewer. I enjoy Leaving Eden for a glimpse into fundie lunacy, Maintenance Phase and The Fuck It Podcast for talk about diet culture, and I have a lot more on my list that were recommended to me but that I haven’t had a ton of time to listen to yet (Fucking Cancelled, I Pray You Put This Journal Away, Sawbones, Femsplainers). Some that I used to really enjoy before they went too far left were QAnon Anonymous and Behind the Bastards (they just did an episode on Chris and called him HER, said Null was a Nazi, how far the mighty have fallen) — you might want to check out old episodes. I have a long commute so I listen to a lot of podcasts.

Blocked and Reported is talked about a lot here, especially in the troon threads. It’s hosted by Jesse Singal and Katie Herzog, who are notorious transphobes, according to Twitter. The focus of the podcast is basically on internet and media drama, particularly involving Twitter.
The FiLia Podcast, Woman by Definition, and The Same Drugs are radical feminist/TERF podcasts. Woman by Definition is hosted by Posie Parker and The Same Drugs is hosted by Meghan Murphy. FiLia is a radical feminist group out of the UK. All of these podcasts are going to focus on various issues under the umbrella of radical feminism, such as gender, domestic violence, surrogacy, court cases, and news.
The Fuck It Podcast comes from the Fuck It Diet, a book by Caroline Dooner. It focuses largely on eating disorder recovery, which is unfortunately all too common amongst women. She expanded the podcast a few years back to cover related topics.

I’d had this bookmarked and finally listened to the Twin Flame podcast. I enjoyed it, thanks for the recommendation! The Trooning Saga was quite a bizarre twist.
I was never into podcasts until I realized they keep me entertained while I’m cleaning. Another one I listened to recently was “The Gateway,” which is about Teal Swan’s self help cult. I wasn’t really a fan of the host, but it did lead me to watch the Hulu docuseries called “The Deep End” which I found to be a much better dive into her insanity.

Fun discussions of current political issues that concern women, with such juicy titles as "Sometimes Violence is the Answer: 35 million surplus Chinese & Indian Men struggle to find wives & a purpose", "Elon Musk's tech bro fanboys think your womb is inefficient & holding back gender equality", and "Should men be allowed to have money?"
- Probably Cancelled Podcast
- The host is a slow, monotone, mega-communist who's into woo (she promotes homebirthing and witchcraft), but she brings on incredible guests and asks good questions so I have to love her pod. Her episodes with anti-porn youth educator Daniel Principe & and sex trade abolitionist Elly Arrow were particularly great. Also enjoyed the episodes on Breast Implant Illness and the Sugar Baby Scam

- The 2 hosts are also quite slow and monotone, I can't tell their voices apart, and sometimes they devolve into word salad (they use lots of big words and concepts don't always flow in a logical way) but I like their topics which have included atypical anorexia (lol), roe v wade, groomers, patriarchy, return of the taliban, and autism. I'm a new listener and their politics are still kinda unclear to me, they seem radfem yet antifeminist, sexual yet trad, but definitely more right-leaning. But I like that they're kinda hard to figure out and they don't seem to give a shit about offending anyone on either side.

Too bad this thread is a year + dead. I'm just here because Google Podcasts is going to die, and this is after my other podcast player died about three months ago. I did some searching around the Internet for a good app but still not seeing any recs jump out at me.
On another note, did find in a reddit post someone complain that a particular favorite app only went up to 3x the speed. Some people razzed him about it but he says he has trouble keeping up with all the podcasts. I can't even find that many to listen to that I'd ever need them to speed up, and even at normal speed I have to rewind often for comprehension. There's no way he remembers a fraction of what he's hearing.
