Going bald - what to do?

But yes, that is quite literally the textbook definition of "shallow." And if a person isn't interested in another because they're balding, is it not true that this person isn't worth the other pursuing?

Everybody is entitled to their own sexual prefernces and to what they may find attractive or not.
If someone doesnt find bald people attractive, doesnt mean theh are shallow.
 
From what I've seen of my acquaintances, it all depends on skull shape. If you have one complimenting baldness, then go full ham; but if you don't, keep it tight. It doesn't really matter if there's give here or there, but make sure you keep it tidy. My balding friends all have hair, but they keep a shaved appearance, like a five o'clock shadow on their heads. Those that like to keep length perm their hair. DO NOT grow it out long and forego reason. Any hairdresser worth his salt will be able to give you practical advice.
 
It's more likely that you'll get bald (to some grade) ASAP if your close relatives have/had baldness when they were young.

You can either accept yourself and your baldness, get a hair transplant surgery, or wear a cat toupee.

Finasteride works wonders, but its a temporary solution. You might get around five extra years from it. Eventually you're going to have to accept the fact that you're going bald. Best plan is to take the finasteride and lock down a girl quick. Put a baby in her. Trap her. Make sure that when she realizes that she married a secret bald man it will be too late for her to flee.

Despite my maternal grandfather being bald at 30, I haven't lost any hair. However, my hair started turning white-not gray, fucking white-around 14-15. This has thrown me for a loop as I was planning to be a chrome dome with a viking beard by now.
 
Use special hair loss shampoo and conditioner systems like Cerafill or NIOXIN, and shampoo a second time with Nizoral twice a week or so. Even though Nizoral is for dandruff and fungal infections, ketoconazole apparently stops DHT. I've been doing this for years after believing my hairline was thinning (although it might have been "maturing" as they say IIRC) and hasn't gotten any worse. If you're willing to spend more, also try Adenogen.

If it gets any worse, save for a transplant, and hope science makes it cheaper and more efficient.
 
I have a cousin that started going bald at 18 and he used Rogaine. I haven't seen him in awhile. But I think it worked out pretty well.

Honestly, you guys take going bald too seriously. It's socially acceptable for men to be bald no matter how you personally feel about it. It's far worse when women experience any sort of thinning or balding. That's when you really have something to cry about. I had a patch from a lupus lesion for years and it was awful. When I started taking biotin my hair actually grew back almost completely normal in that area.

I don't think biotin works for male pattern baldness. It might help if you have a deficiency in biotin though. It takes awhile to work. You need to be on it for several months before you notice any changes. I started taking it a year ago and the difference is astounding. I have normal looking hair now that grows pretty fast.

Try washing your hair by lathering it then pouring containers of warm water over it to rinse. I do that and it doesn't get dried out and stays cleaner longer because my scalp doesn't go super oily to compensate. Or at least don't wash your hair under a really hot shower.

Guys who are balding should consider a full head shave. Plenty of guys look good bald and it's better than having middle aged dad hair. You'd probably look younger as a cue ball.

"Kill yourself" was what I expected to be the first, second, and third reply, but didn't happen until much, much further into the thread.
I like the mini encoded conversation that was happening within the main conversation, that lots of people didn't seem to pick up on.

I'll offer a different alternative. Make it into a power play by styling your hair exactly as you did before you were bald. Act like you haven't even noticed. Dare anyone else to mention it.

My brother went bald at 25 and he rocks it, and when my hair goes, I'll probably do the same.
 
Just roll with it I say. Sometimes you get fucked over on the genetic lottery. For example, I got the early graying gene from my mom's side and I already have a few whitish hairs. There are some things in this world you can't control so remember, when life gives you lemons, make some bitching lemon cakes
