For the people who care about Roman history, the Roman Emperors featured in this movie are Caracalla and Geta. As for those who care about music and the score for Gladiator 2, Hans Zimmer will not be involved in the production.

The sets look good? Other than that it looks like shit. The black guy is fine but why the god awful rap music? I don't even think blacks would find that appealing.

Denzel always delivers a good performance but why him? They could easily pick a large pool of other actors, like Mads Mikelsen, Stellen Skaarsgard, Jared Harris, Peter Capaldi or even Charles Dance to be the villain. These guys could pull off the villainous Roman elite look perfectly.
I love the sets, and the battles look good, but really this isn't a movie that had to be made. I love the first movie but I never asked for a second. Maybe a prequel showing Maximus's military history but a movie set 25 years or so after the first is just dumb.
Also, Gladiator II. It would have been better to give it a subtitle like "Gladiator: Blood and Sand" or "Gladiator: Age of Empires", but simply giving it the "2" is cheesy and fucking dumb.
Will I watch this? Maybe when it comes to

I'll keep it simple: no Hans Zimmer no thanks. also little surprised they didn't get Michael Sera to play one of the faggy emperors cause they clearly used him as a template he would have been a better fit than Ron Perlman as a caveman in Quest for Fire.

As long as we don't have an "epic music" soundtrack I'll be fine. Harry Gregson-Williams does a god job with his movies (Narnia, Man on Fire and X-Men Origins) as well as the MGS game series, so it could work, but I do agree, Zimmer is a hard act to follow up on.
