It doesn't really matter outside of Gunsmoke or target practice, this game is easy enough to play with just your default units. If you want to make the game easier I'd get Suomi from the selector banner.
For gunsmoke you would probably want to borrow a V6 Springfield instead.

Springfield dupe obtained (After losing a 50/50 to poison gunner cat girl), had also saved up 900 of the weapon currency and got Tololo's weapon.

With all the free pulls and flood of currency are going to dry up sooner or later, but still enjoying the game so far.

just a heads up, in the next patch they're adding tickets to that exchange shop. the weapons are still a good deal, 1 ticket = 30 redundant pieces so you're basically spending 30 pulls for a guaranteed elite weapon. because of the formation system you only really need one copy of a weapon to swap around so it's a good idea to save after that. imo the only 2 you really need are a planeta and a golden melody for qiongjiu when you get her.

I try to pull at least V0 for every character just because I sometimes like to use different characters. The power creep makes the game too easy and boring. The difficult content is literally just a DPS check.

Pulled Makiatto on the Pick who you want for the first character banner, I thought I had her gun selected when I did the weapon banner but pulled Daiyan's instead.

Just started chapter 8 and am rank 36, some of the harder activities in the 45 range scratch that xcom itch I was hoping for.

Same old games industry, same old drama. In the same vein as the later drama in these past few months (Subnautica 2 developer shitfest, Wuthering Waves 1st Anniversary, World of Tanks Raumfalte lootboxes, the entirety of Splitgate 2, etc.) Chinese and Global GFL2 is under reviewbombing as months of shit updates have culminated in complete dissatisfaction with the current state of the game. The dormitory furniture available in the game is completely paywalled and, taking a page from Nikke's skin microtransaction drama, paywalled the doll's costumes via Pink Tickets.

These Pink Tickets cannot be earned using regular currency and you as a F2P are fucked because you can only get 6 by your weeklies/dailies. The hard pity for these tickets is 100, meaning the grind for a singular skin is massive. To top it all off the expenses to purchase these tickets is at $130, and that is not even the maximum microtransaction cost given that you are purchasing tickets with a chance to get a skin.

Even worse, the gameplay balance is getting fucked (taking a page right from Honkai Star Rail) with the new character Voymastina having powercrept Klukai and Suomi, where she can end the match's turn on Turn 0, meaning her kit can insta-win the battle (and some borrowing another player's Voymastina if they don't have her). The end-game still hasn't changed since release meaning both CN and Global are forced into the same boring standing-still boss since the game's release.

In the middle of all of this, they also noticed Mica's slow abandonment of Project: Neural Cloud, the other GFL-related gacha game (much like how Overkill abandoned their mobile spinoff of Payday [Payday: Crime Wars] and Wargaming abandoning Steel Hunters 3 months after release) post 3rd-Anniversary. CN and Global servers have been getting reruns and only reruns, with Global being worse off since they are still delayed by a year in terms of content compared to the CN server. The shop is still open and banners are rushed and resource farming is rendered impossible since some events are not rerun at all.

I fully understand they wanted to run away from the "jpeg collector Kantai Collection" derivative thing they had with GFL1, but the completely retarded names they made up never cease to make me smile. What's a "Voymastina"? A Russian alternative for butter? Ah wait it's AK-15. What's a Klukai? Feed for birds? Ah wait it's HK-416.

Also, what the hell did people expect? GFL2 was a massive money sink, didn't reach the same relative success of GFL1, they need to get the skinner boxes into gear. It's not they're even making money on GFL1 anymore having nuked the mobile servers in China and fucked up the Steam version.

I'd say that's only marginally worse than Klukai ending it on turn 1 just by having auto on. To be fair, all gacha is powercreep, that's how they get you to pay for new content.
I think you got Suomi wrong here? She doesn't really do damage and most of the content in the game is just DPS checks.

I want to see how many would boycott the game by still playing and spending money on it. I remember global complaining about the ticket exchange not being added and then everyone is suddenly happy when MICA adds the system *after* the Springfield/MP5 event.

Speaking of her, did you know that her specific dorm animation is part of the gacha pool with the Klukai swimsuit? That means that if you hit the hard pity, a good chance is that you won't get Klukai's suit at all, you'll get WAs dorm animation (maybe), assuming you even have her in the first place (lol). Actual retarded gacha design.

Apparently MICA, the GFL devs, sent out an official mail to CN players to get an offline, face-to-face meetup with them on August 17th about the skin shit.

In addition to this, many have started lamenting the game's core problems, between a piss-easy difficulty and an unengaging story.

Also, apparently I heard it had the ability for characters to miss shots (just like XCOM) but they removed in the beta to make it reduced damage instead (a mix of the graze mechanic in XCOM 2 and the cover-based damage mechanic in Chimera Squad) due to many complaints. Now people are complaning it is easy as shit.

I'm looking at the charts and Exilium seems to be at the point where it barely breaks even. Enough it won't go EOS but it's basically the end of the franchise relevence.

AFAIK Sunborn/MICA never really do much with relevancy and prefers to keep smaller, loyal fanbase (read: schizos) combined with the fact that the franchise has survive long past usual gacha game life expectancy ever since it started literally 10 years ago and considered by some as the "cockroach of gacha" that seemingly refuses to keel over dead.

The CN server is still somewhat strong too, so it's not like the game gonna die. Becoming irrelevant? Maybe, but not necessarily ded.
