I think you're onto something with the screen stuff, but now you really have me thinking about this. Even a horror movie, with the violent scenes the sounds from those still totally squick me out or get my heartrate up even though I known its noises made in a sound effects lab. Usually in those cases the actual human screaming doesn't hit because it's not actually real, it's missing the je ne c'est quoi...but the other sounds like thudding and chopping and squishy/wet noises etc...eugh!

I think people in smaller online communities have a tendency to, when somebody with a large presence mentions them positively, sort of turn that person into some sort of spokesperson for their community. My Thoughts on Turkey Tom are complicated and if he drops a goonclown video he might be able to get back into my good graces. I feel like he relies a lot on us on the farms for content but doesn't defend us as much as he should.

Her whole life story, or what we know of it, is pretty sad. I guess for a while her dad had custody and there was a court order to stop making online content, which honestly no 9 year old needs that spotlight, however her ex manager claimed that she was being abused.
