EU Germany may introduce conscription for all 18-year-olds - Both men and women could be called up to boost numbers in the armed forces

Germany is considering introducing conscription for all 18-year-olds, as it looks to boost its troop numbers in the face of Russian military aggression.

Military planners in Berlin are in the final stages of discussing three options, two of which involve a form of conscription, according to leaked plans reported in the German media.

Boris Pistorius, the defence minister, is set to go public with the official plans by June.

In one of the options being discussed, Germany would bring back a compulsory military year for young men once they turn 18, which was suspended in 2011, and apply it to women as well. This would require a change to the German constitution, but is seen inside the ministry as most likely to receive societal approval.

Another option would only apply to 18-year-old men, but would not see everyone selected. They would be required to fill in an online form and could then be chosen for service, according to details leaked to Die Welt newspaper. This is seen by the defence ministry as “a strong signal” to both allies and rivals.

The third option would avoid compulsory service, focusing instead on “optimising” the current system by engaging in more proactive recruitment campaigns.

However, Mr Pistorious is believed to be against that route. During a trip to Washington this week, he said: “I’m convinced that Germany needs a form of military conscription.”

Mr Pistorius, who polls regularly show to be the country’s most popular politician, has previously described the decision to suspend conscription as “a mistake”.

Its possible reintroduction comes as Germany’s ageing society means the number of soldiers heading into retirement is outstripping the number of new recruits joining up to replace them.

Meanwhile, Berlin has also set a target of raising the size of its armed forces from some 180,000 today to more than 200,000.

The defence ministry is believed to be sceptical that this target can be met without some form of conscription.

Opposition within government

Mr Pistorius is likely to face considerable resistance to his plans from inside the German government, however.

Olaf Scholz, the German chancellor, has previously voiced his opposition to such a move, while ministers from junior coalition partners the Free Democrats and the Greens have also stated they would oppose it.

Nonetheless, momentum for reintroducing conscription is growing.

At its party conference this week, the centre-Right Christian Democrats (CDU), Germany’s main opposition party, reversed its stance by voting for a motion to support the “reintroduction of conscription in a step-by-step process”.

Mr Pistorius has signalled an openness to working across party lines, saying he was “pleased that the CDU is on a similar path to the one I have been working on”.

the Russian mindset vis-a-vis borders has always been "There are no neutral buffer states, only enemies that haven't attacked yet"
Thats not true... the issue is that 5the west penetrated so deep into the russian sphere .
Poland is the buffer state between germany and russia, not belarus and ukraine....

This is cope over recruitment, and wouldn't work anyway. Nobody is signing up in any western countries, this isn't a coincidence. Who would want to fight for a country that cares more for fags and darkies than you? I sure as shit wouldn't stay in my country (bongistan) if conscription came back, I'm not putting my neck on the line for globohomo.
PSA: Say you're an avid user of LSD. You can't go near armed forces/police, in terms of joining or conscription, if you've ever taken LSD.

Technically there's Poland in between Germany and Russia (even though it may as well be one giant highway in military terms), which makes me question why the Russians have historically been so eager to team up with the Germans to slice that place up like a Thanksgiving turkey. You'd think having a neutral buffer state would be the safest option there, but noooo.
The last time Poland was a neutral buffer state was in the 18th century, and even back then it was conceivable that Poland would rise again and threaten both Russia and Prussia. Interbellum Poland and the USSR hated each other more than they hated Germany. In hindsight carving up Poland was a bad move but at the time it seemed like a real possibility that Poland and Germany would come to an agreement at Russia's expense.
"The borders expand to meet the security needs of the expanding borders" is one hell of a foreign policy, I tell you hwat.
This is basically all empires. Hence why France and Germany are now acting like Ukraine is integral to their security because Ukraine is on their new EU border.

Funny how we've been told everyone was living in poverty and squalor a few hundred years ago but their was no shortage of men for the army. Yet now, in the ever glorious abundance of Chinese made crap and fast food, Western Armies are struggling to fill in the most basic recruitment goals. Curios. I wonder what happened
I don't know, but it probably has something to do with the Jews...

This is going to be coming to all western nations in thr next couple years.

And do note that in the U.S the NDAA increases the draft age to 35 it's not going to be just zoomies getting fucked.
This was repeatedly brought up in the last KVAF meeting and a lot of people who didn't know about it were genuinely terrified. People married for 10 years with a family learning that they too had a personal stake if ZOG really did give the order - not just the very young single men.

  1. No contraceptive implants with near-decade effectiveness, meaning just 2-4 'doses' all but guarantees a young woman is effectively childless for life.
  2. Infinite free porn not available to even the dumbest boy on earth making them burn out on real girls by 18.
  3. Family court and divorce court either didn't exist or didn't exist solely to fleece men.
  4. #MeToo movement and general feminism making modern women risky to even approach without a Chad license.

This could be based if it helps to make adults out of man- and womanchildren, and I as a Russian welcome Germany getting based. A based Germany is a friendlier Germany.
there is one thing to add: the German conscription also had the option of refusing the military part and do the same time as the so called "ersatzdienst". which means you would work 1 year for a social institution like retirement homes or the Technische hilfswerk. There is the idea that all Germans aged 18 should do a mandatory service year but they can choose to do it either with the military or with in the social security system. That is slightly different as during the older version you needed a good reason to refuse service in the military (which in all honesty was bullshit as even if your first refusal was denied you could go to court and would usually win)
