I feel neutral about this game honestly. If it’s doing well, it makes other /vg/ generals seeth endlessly. And if it fuck up. Oh boy imagine the shitstorm. I will get my entertainment either way.

Barbara's heals persist through character changes, as do a ton of buffs. Once I understood that the game became a lot deeper, instantly.

I'm really enjoying this so far, at adventure rank 25. I lucked out and got a five star Ninja girl earlier today and have already seen a big boost in world fights, but otherwise the Gacha hasn't seemed forced upon me - a team of default characters has managed every challenge so far. Will be curious to see how long that lasts though.
 
Voice acting, stunning graphics, decent-ish storyline, gripping combat and game play mechanics -

Even if this is a Gacha game, I still can't believe this game is free. Just got done with the first temple, gonna play some more when I finish my youtube binging

the only chat exists in co-op lobbies, which needs a specific invite. also chinese company operating in china avoiding possible legal trouble, who would've guessed.

battlefield blocked "white man" and "dlc", yet no one gave a shit.

the banner/wish with the specific pool (50% to get venti when you roll a 5 star, which in itself is still only 0.6% ) is only available for a limited time. character will probably come back at some point, but most likely not as easy to get since the pool will be different. right now if you don't pull him the first time, you'll definitely get him the second time - which in the worst case could be 180 pulls (90 pull guarantee to get a 5 star, if the coinflip fails it's another 90)

on top of that you want to pull it another 5 times to max his constellation, so good luck.

EDIT:
also, quick advice for anyone who needs higher advance materials: alchemy can combine lower tiers to the higher ones. no need to farm for non-boss drops.

I'm sure everything has been vetted by CCP. Since most of the girls in this game are fairly by the numbers design wise. I doubt you'll ever see something like some of the designs other gachas have.

Tier list for anyone into it. I haven't pulled the Gacha outside of freebies and only have two of the 5 stars - electric bow girl, and electric Ninja girl - but I'm changing elements so frequently I can't say I feel they've over shadowed the rest of the rota.

Think I'm in this for the long haul. Been considering getting the premium battle pass; have yet to be compelled into MTX.

the moon pass for 5 bucks is pretty good value, it's almost 10 times the amount you get buying it directly, if you can log in every day to claim it. word of advice, if you go with that save the crystals, there might be stuff coming you can only buy with that (and if not/it's something you don't want you can still convert them later).

battle pass depends how far you're in, that's the ingenious part about it. the more you play and unlock the more you're pushed towards buying it because you can immediately see what you'd be missing. otoh you can always make an informed decision if the stuff you unlocked so far is worth it (it should work retroactively, but you never know with some companies). important: the bigger pass doesn't give you +10 ranks, it makes you start at 10. after that it's pretty pointless unless you really want to spend 10 bucks on that profile background.

rolling on banners itself is pretty straight forward if you can read the details and have basic understanding of statistics. rolling on anything outside the special in the limited banner is usually not worth it because the pool is either too diluted (standard banner has chars + weapons, all with the same probability) or gets overshadowed by the boosted chars (like 50% chance for venti and higher chance for 4 stars in the limited).

most gatchas are pretty chill if you don't fall into the OMG I NEED IT NOW mindset and have a bit of self control. while companies do the whole limited shit for FOMO, in the long run most stuff will be easier to get when new stuff comes out. plus there's a constant stream of free stuff to keep you in the game to maybe make you open your wallet in the future (apparently there's a free fischl coming next week for example).

After adventure rank 30 the content available has dropped massively but it was pretty fun getting there, hoping the next patch isn't too far away. I got insanely lucky and got Venti and Keqing but I'm hitting walls to get them past 60, gonna commit to the grind and hope the future content is good.
 
it's Breath of the Wild with waifus and a sort of deep combat system.

  1. Rerolling takes 20-30 minutes. You shouldn't worry too much about this since the SSR characters are laughably rare, but they're totally worth keeping if you do snag them. You're guaranteed an SSR character every 90 rolls, and if you roll that guaranteed roll from a rate-up banner, you get the banner headlining SSR.
  2. Pity rates carry over from banner to banner.
  3. ten-rolls and single-rolls don't differ in netter you anything. You're guaranteed a 4* weapon or char every 10 rolls.
  4. Get the starter banner done asap. It offers a solid tank in Noelle being a guaranteed unit. It also costs less.
  5. The free characters are decent. The MC's the only easily available Wind Element, which mean they've got an assload of utility, as well as combat comboing.
    1. Amber, Kaeya, Lisa (Maneating Waifubait Witch), Xiangling, (For now) and Barbara are all free. They're all workable and cover most if not all of the elements if you take the MC and the start banner guaranteed Noelle into account.
      1. Amber sucks but is usable and needed for puzzles. Kaeya is less so, but Cryo has nice comboing. The rest are solid.
  6. the game rewards exploration and quests.
  7. The China themed region has implied brothels and opium dens. The german themed region is centered around "Freedom" and has fuckin Windmills of Peace and Co-Operation. No, seriously.
    1. The Russian themed region's secret covert organization wants to take down everything. The Chinese themed region is the trade center of the world and it's implied in random convo that they eat dogs.
But seriously, the game's fun. Just remember to funnel your resources into a small group of whoever you like early on. Remember to grab everything you can because the various weapon, artifact, and character exp upgrades cost gold. You can grind for this every day tho.
The game's incredibly beautiful for a Free to play game. It's also GPU intensive an my gtx 1650 can just about run medium settings, amazingly.

Sure you could say it's a Zelda clone, but I've never seen a Zelda game be this based and redpilled.

saw the ticket answer about limited, did they clarify it somewhere else that it counts for standard too?

as for single rolls, imo it comes down to saving rolls in the long run. if you pull a 5* on your 55th roll, it resets the pity counter so you have to re-evaluate if you want to possibly spend another 90 rolls.
if you roll in 10s you would have "wasted" 5 rolls which you could have saved for the next banner.

it's also hilarious how much butthurt the game causes, first for "gamers" on /v/ because MUH GATCHA BOTW CLONE, and now reddit once they figure out what gatcha actually means at 30 when the current content is done.

shit chance for diluc, but if you finish both zones till the end of the banner there's a good chance to get at least venti (got 80 something rolls out of the game and got him when I didn't even want it, would rather have saved the pity for the next banner. that being said he's OP af).
