I think it started from the right wing Gen Z. Movements such as the sexual revolution, feminism, etc which occurred during the Boomers' time are percieved as the roots as modern-day leftism. For the belief of Boomers being selfish, there's this idea that they gladly sit by in their big empty homes while their children struggle day-to-day to make ends meet in a city far away and that they only care about their own interests, they'd sooner spend hundreds of thousands on extending their lifespan by a few months rather than lifting a hand to help their children. It's cultural astrology. You can't help being born when you were, which makes it appealing to the masses. You can help identifying with a generation so much that you lose all sense of personality.
Boomers going from boring and "holding back Progress" to degenerate and selfish is a new development in my view. I keep seeing that more and more. When did that happen?
It's just the zoomers skinwalking the boomers they'll never have the level of influence of that do that for the most part from what I've seen.I like millennial hate because it was a trend for a while to act like millennials were the cool older sibling of gen z, I think it was a surprise for some when zoomers started mocking millennials for being old and out of touch.
It’s a movement to fragment us along generational lines and reduce the extended family. It’s fuelled by the fact that the resources we had, environment and physical and financial have been strip mined by a small number of that generation. So what's the deal with that?
Yeah my parents are boomers. Worked really hard, we were poor when I was a kid, and now they’re lower middle sort of comfy. I begrudge them nothing, they worked for it, they own their small modest home and have small modest pensions. They worked hard for all of it and grew up with rationing, in houses with no central heating. I want them to enjoy their last years. They’re generous with what they have even though it isn’t much. They supported me when I wanted to go to uni even though it wasn’t financial support. They’ve always been there for me.The boomers are selfish thing was shocking to me because I don't know of any like that
