General Wrestling Discussion

One "what if?" scenario I was thinking about is if Randy Orton didn't go AWOL and disobeyed orders while in the Marines, and didn't get that Bad Conduct Discharge. How much more different would his wrestling career have gone as a result?
Probably pretty different.

He probably would've been kicked out eventually anyway since supposedly he was kind of known for not following orders (go figure), but if not, he probably serves his 8 years. Either he would've been 8 years in the service itself or some time (3-4 years from what I have read) would've eventually been in the reserves. I doubt that they would've signed him for the WWF while he was in the reserves since he could be called up at any time, especially because that would've been around the time of the Iraq war (his potential reserves would've started in 03ish, which is right around when it was started).

So he would've had to start wrestling in 2006 at age 26 instead of at age 20 in 2000. Assuming he gets the call up in 2009 instead of 2003 (same amount of time in developmental), he wouldn't have had the same aura as a rookie at age 29 as he would've at 23. With how awful the angles were for new call ups around that time, he probably gets something lame like a member of the Nexus or gets to be Hornswoggle's dancing partner. After that, he eventually goes the way of Ted Dibiase Jr and leaves wrestling. Or maybe he bites the bullet and goes around the indies and signs with TNA/ROH, and eventually gets called up to WWE again or maybe goes to AEW.

So the tranny fans who are getting ready to watch Kidd Bandit’s wrestling show tonight have been pissed about the whole tipping rule, and Joey’s response to the fiasco is to just lash out at anyone complaining. I can already tell this is gonna be a shitshow.

Here's a what-if for ya, what if the Nasty Boys did what they set out to do and actually threw Ken Shamrock out of that hotel window in the early 90's? Ken would've either died or probably permanently crippled meaning he'd never go to Japan and be one of the major faces in MMA from his work in Pancrase and RINGS and the UFC would've never gotten the Gracie-Shamrock run in it's first few tournaments and he wouldn't be able to give that tough guy legitimately to the attitude era WWF and be the guest referee at WM13.

This was in 1990 and for folks who didn't know Ken was doing pro wrestling for a couple years before going to Japan and doing the quasi-shoot style matches in Pancrase and UWF, the story goes he was out with a buddy who brought his girlfriend and Knobbs and Saggs were there getting a little touchy with her and an altercation happened at the bar and they were all kicked out. Ken being pissed off confronted the two at the hotel only to be overpowered and held by his feet on the balcony.

I know I'm preaching to the choir by now, but wrestling fans really are NPCs.
