General Wrestling Discussion

Vince McMahon is the best counterargument to that collectivist. He is a billionaire, and yet is the final word on scripting, is at nearly every Monday night show, handles who gets more tv time than others, and handles wrestlers' characters, even down to changing names in order to copyright for merchandise. He works his ass off every week to create unique stories for dozens of characters.
And Vince McMahon has cracked under the pressure, and the fear that his best attractions will leave him. They have. Dwayne Johnson got his start there for one, SCSA left out of not only his injuries, but basically a fit of pique, Brock and Goldberg both left to shitty future careers, Brock only came back because he got desperate and Vince got stupid and even more desperate.

As a result of this paranoia, Vince has completely failed to develop and find the new talent that he needs. Give it another few years of this, and the WWE will be on the way to the same graveyard the WCW went to. Maybe some of this would have been averted had Vince worked out a good agent contract with its current and former stars, taking a small amount, say 5-10% of pay or gross, that a star earns for every movie or tv episode for twenty years, and otherwise letting that star do whatever the fuck they pleased outside the company.

Oh well.

As long as TV and the network deliver like this, the WWE has nothing to worry about. Take into account Network costs are dropping while revenue is skyrocketing for it.

Man, sorry for Paige. Same thing happened to Edge, and I agree retirement is best. It would be stupid to return only to risk greater injury or even paralysis. I was recently reading about Droz's untimely injury and no one, not even wrestlers, should risk their health for a wrestling match.

So Paige has been told her in-ring career is over. Life sure isn't fucking fair given it looked like she would get some redemption for the past couple of years in her life.

So one of the wrestlers that was MEME over....is done for thanks to early career injury? Don't feel too bad Paige, similar thing happened to Stone Cold.

WITH A BROKEN FREAKING NECK.

If i remember correctly it was the sprout pharama controversy when the wellness policy was just flat out ignored because randy orton was on 2 strikes and vinnie didnt want to fire him because hes one of his golden boys so i doubt anything will ever come of it.

Impact's got a twitch channel going now. So far I've seen a mix of actually good content and some lolTNA, but it's generally been enjoyable to leave on for pro wrestling background noise.

Recent match between Rey Fenix (Fenix from Lucha Underground / AAA / The Crash) and Hijo De LA Park (afaik legit son of LA Park, the original La Parka from WCW)
Nothing life-changing, but a pretty good match and a nice showing by Hijo Park demonstrating that he really busts his ass instead of coasting on the name, unlike pretty much every Parka that isn't his father.

That's, what? The second time with him and some form of illicit substance? Is he even over enough to deserve the Orton treatment?

No, but Vince has decided Roman should be the most over person in the company, so he's been steadily undermining everyone else. It's like that old adage, he's a millionaire who should be a billionaire.

I am totally hyped as fuck for PCW Ultra tonight. Some indy out of California, the main event has Penta el 0M teaming with The Great Muta, which is some badass face paint dream team shit.
