I recently unsubbed from him due to his videos largely being a mix of SHTF larping and product reviews of stuff I don't care about. To me, his apocalypse larping seems to be equal parts adolescent fantasy and a thinly concealed excuse to hang out in the mountains with his friends. His videos also tend to be longer than necessary due to his habitual rambling. That's something I appreciate about Hop, at least. He's typically concise in both the way he speaks and edits his videos, and thus won't stretch a 5 minute video out to 16 minutes.

His whole channel and subscribeStar or whatever donation service he is uses is a grift for him to go car camping with his friends and fuck around on state land in Utah. I noticed he bought a camper van to support it too. Fun fact: if he was doing this on federal land he would be breaking the law because paramilitary training is illegal on federal land, you can go shooting but to run drills and practice comms while wearing tactical gear would cross a line. Not smart if he is doing that while making content for a guntube channel. For a guy claiming to run drills and shows them on video, why not go into what drills you do and why you do them, educate your presumably younger audience. Personally, I think he only knows a handful of useful drills from classes and he doesn't know enough to talk about them and why he does them. But no, go over US Army rifle squads and the need for a designated marksman rifle and FRT support gunner for your larp squad. Make another video about how you need to be like Green Berets but don't go over any of the publicly available DoD publications that would be useful for green beret type activities (looking at you improvised munitions manual). The SHTF stuff he he presents is like a college kid in the dining hall musing to his friends on what he thinks will happen after reading wikipedia. It's sucks and it's shallow.
His gear reviews are getting old. Congrats on trying out a new $1000+ IR active aiming device, how about going through spec sheets and talking about why L3Harris civilian PEQs aren't worth the price because their power is limited to a third of what the military gets (I picked that up by the Spiritus systems guy) and why Chinese made ones are probably a good choice at the moment. Most of us who want to get into night vision will most likely settle for a holosun IRIS and be done with it, we don't need to spend a couple of thousand trying to get the elusive MAWL device. How about actually making a coherent presentation on what to look for in a device rather than just you rambling on how you used it while shooting it. Make some useful graphics, you're like the Stefan Molyneux of guntubing as you just ramble in front of a camera. The last interesting video he made was how his B&T (USA) TP9 started failing hard up at the 10K round count. I found it fascinating because it shows how the PCC market for self defense is extremely limited.
I'm going to praise Hop, that english/literature degree he got helps his channel because he knows how to write coherent scripts to present and his voice isn't as droning as BF is.
Yeah I skip the bullshit intros with their odd fantasies but the content is good enough to educate someone who is new. I give them credit, they even made a video why they hate the UN blue helmet forces they make as antagonists in almost all their intros.
