Aesthetics mattering. Holy fuck just look at the past 300 years of firearms. Anyone claiming aesthetics never mattered is fucking delusional. It's the same reason no one gave a shit about something like that zip 22lr, or that recent "ounce" hunk of shit that was floating around for a bit recently.
It's why the MP5 is still top dog despite the existence of things like the MCX and friends, which are tecnically "better", but none are the gun of John McClain, and they never will be. It also helps a ton that its still the best shooting SMG yet devised, despite everyone else having 70 years to either catch up, or at least competently copy them.
Related: That new roller delayed Taurus PCC looks like a bag of smashed assholes. I don't care how good it shoots, or how cheap it may get, I don't want it. The Springfield Kuna and the Stribog both go into the same box, too.

They were great guns, better than any post war colt imho, at least once they started building in-house rather than assembling Uberti parts. Hard to get into today because prices are, frankly, nuts

Standard MFG makes SAA's of the highest quality, nearly equal to the Gen 3 Colts. only mark against them is they don't offer much variety. 7 1/2in, 5 1/2in and 4 3/4in in .45 colt with an option for engraving. USFA made a shit ton of different makes of the colt.

The latest Gen 3 is widely regarded as the best SAA Colt's ever done. Standard had people from USFA and Colt help set up their SAA production IIRC.
I have a Ruger Blackhawk .45 that has over 10,000 rounds to date. lots of +P loads, blackpowder and standard pressure. It's a great gun. The quality is in the design, not the fit and finish. Bill Ruger designed them to be working guns for outdoorsman and ranchers. They Cheap out where they can without compromising the functionality, so an Aluminum grip frame, plastic rear sight, plastic grips. The super blackhawk has more care put into it, but that costs extra. The blueing isn't all that pretty like a colt or even an italian SAA, but it is hardy. I've rarely cleaned mine (basically only after i shoot BP in it) and it's never developed rust, even after days of traipsing through the appalachian rain forests.
I don't carry it too often these days now that i have a Colt's Anaconda in .45.
The beretta takeover is likely. Ruger's gave them a few seats on the board. the company is solid but they've been making some questionable market decisions. A takeover won't be a bad thing IMO. Beretta owns a lot of gunmakers and they're pretty hands off. SAKO/TIKKA, H&H, Uberti and so on.
If it was FN or H&K looking to buy i'd be worried.
FocusTripp had a pretty good stream last night about the death of GunTube. He finally had a non yes man on named “Lost Hater,” and Richard wasn’t there. He was replaced by a Brass Facts Discord moderator, lmfao.
Lost Hater called out Hop’s decade of shitty videos and Knight’s Armament’s overpriced mid rifles, and the chat was pretty split on those takes. Navyman, M26 Lemon Party, and others were also catching strays in the chat for their terrible content. Even the rage bait section was interesting, with a dog shooting someone with a shotgun and RT reporting that Joe Biden had sex with Kamala Harris.
I really wish they’d bring more dissenters on, because his typical hugbox has gotten extremely boring.

I mean, its their job to make videos, and they're probably mirroring what most people complain about. I doubt they make a lucrative amount of money and you cant sell ammo on tacswap when you're done with the review.
That being said, nods, lasers, and FRTs are absolutely pointless. If you waste money on those (as I have in the past) you're throwing cash away
