This one kinda hurts. I didn't even really watch her much but I missed the announcement and only found out today because I randomly got an urge to listen to the Gura + senzawa "duet" of "You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone" of all things, and the announcement vid was in the related videos.

I think I just remember her fondly as a proof of concept. I remember watching clips of Korone and Pikamee speaking English and thinking to myself, "It would be cool if somebody did this in English full time so I could listen instead of squinting at subtitles half the time," and I was vaguely aware of senzawa as nyanners 2.0, so to see her get scooped up and boosted by the same company backing Korone felt like a good omen.

I'm probably just overly emotional/susceptible because I've been dealing with a lot of loss and grief the last couple years but this and Ame got me feeling feels I haven't felt since I was a teenage weeb mourning the ending of a good story.

Damn. Here I thought she'd be one of the Chuubas that would hit mainstream and remain there. What in the name of fuck is happening over at Hololive for them to be hemorrhaging talent?

I wonder if maybe building a business around streaming videogames and cultivating a roster of hikikomoris who want to stream video games from their bedrooms and then trying to pivot to idolshit and making your hikikomori streamers sing and dance on a stage in front of hordes of idolshit fans with idolshit fan stalker mentalities creates some friction between your now-idolshit company and your hikikomori streamer talent.
