A YouTuber critiquing the Paleo diet said something I found really enlightening that I wanted to share in this thread. The idea that "raw" food is better for you because it's what our ancestors ate and it's "more natural" is actually pretty stupid. Because evidence suggests humans started cooking their food about 250,000 years ago. Even before they originally developed agriculture.

Think about that: for a quarter million years, about as long as humans have actually been, well, human, we've been cooking. That's a quarter million years for the body to evolve and adapt to a totally new diet. Your entire body is probably so genetically far off from those ancient antediluvian motherfuckers that you probably have organs they didn't have.
