GameTrailers + Old Screwattack - or, 'member pre-Let's Play YouTube?
I've been on a bit of a nostalgia kick recently, largely through rewatching old GameTrailers videos. Post videos/thoughts about GameTrailers and/or old Screwatack.
Oh man you want to talk about classic ScrewAttack, you can't beat Awesome Video Games:
Craig apparently did some shady shit to the AVG crew so they abandoned ScrewAttack after their first season and moved to their own website, but that was where I discovered these guys and I love them.
I only knew ScrewAttack as the people who put up the old AVGN videos back when he was the "face" of the YouTube gaming community and the channel everyone copied.
AFAIK it was in the pre partnership days too when "making money" online was running your own site, and from what I read with googling he had a set schedule at first from this deal too. ScrewAttack was paying him for these videos before he could make the money back from being a top YouTube partner.

You are correct, AVGN was "independent" for a relatively short period of time before he scored his first "network" deal online with ScrewAttack. AVGN was such a major commodity that lots of people believe that when GameTrailers/Viacom struck a deal to host ScrewAttack's content that they were only ever really interested in securing AVGN. ScrewAttack's Top 10 and Game Vault series were picked up by GameTrailers purely to make it look like they weren't only after James Rolfe's content alone.
