Sit back little kiwis; I shall regal you with the tale of what gaming was, what gaming is and what it shall become.

Long ago the nerd would sit alone at his home, playing his vidya because sports and outdoor activities did not appeal. Those who did not appreciate the games for what they were would mock the nerd most viciously, sometimes pulling his undergarments twixt his buttocks or dunking said head in yon lavatory. It twas truly the dark ages for gamers everywhere.

But then on the Box of X a game was released; Halo. Suddenly the nerd found himself amid new friends and allies who wished to play said games and there was much rejoicing; no longer was he forced to eat his Doritos alone...now he had kinship with those who once mocked him. The multiple player genre became a beastly juggernaut, where eight year olds proclaimed they had relations with your mother and the N-word was spoken with much fervor.

Alas this would prove to be gamings downfall. Now no longer basement dwellers who had no voice they could scream into a microphone for others to listen to; nitpicking everything they disliked and bitching about things that displeased them so. They rallied together and foamed at the mouths at the slightest provocation, making immense asses of themselves anytime someone so much as mocked them...no longer fearing retribution with anonymity on their side.

The Mass Effect is what some would consider the first true victory; whining so potent and intense that the developers actually heard it and did something to fix it, damning themselves in the process as the video game world had done what no one should ever do; they gave in to the terrorists making demands of them. With that the gamers now felt renewed, if not ill-gotten, power that they could now abuse. Gamergate; atrocious. Kimmel; a monster. Anytime they feel slighted they rise up and squeal until they are finally given what they want...like a piglet hungry for milk.

Rest well, little kiwis, for this tale is far from over.

I can't help but feel like I've heard this song and dance already... Oh my god it's Retsupurae all over again, only this time people seem to have gotten mad over a one time thing and possibly have made it more than a one time thing now. Good Job Youtube LPers, you sure showed that Jimmy Kimmel what-for.

Omigawrd some comedian who I didn't even know had a late show (seriously, like is so much more relaxing without even basic cable), is making fun of people I make fun of already! Nooooaaaarggh... ahhh....ah..

Nope. Let them devour each other. Gamers can give Jimmy material for another couple of weeks, and gamers can be angry at something else for a while other than the San Fran Fascist Fantastic. It'll be like a work vacation for both parties.
