If that's the case, then making sure there's a CWCki backup is fundamental. It'd be terrible for Chris to 'win' [getting the CWCki and its forums removed] for even one second.

I think after the initial "HAY LOOK! KIWI FORUMS ARE INVOLVED IN WIZARDCHONS RAID" nonsense, our "inovlvement" (in the biggest quotes possible since we were never involved!) moved all the way down to zero. Maybe even the negatives. Dont know how this is possible.

Hasn't there been an ongoing series of DDOSes targeting nerd stuff for the past few months? I remember hearing about them as a wave when WoW was interrupted a little while back.

See, and that's so irritating for me at least. I'm not saying I'm part of the GG group, but I am heavily against the bullshit the SJWs have been doing and I've really been wanting to put together a few motivational comic pages to tell people that are pro-gamers to keep fighting the good fight. Further, I intentionally keep my online presence to a minimum - I don't keep a public Facebook, I don't Twitter, I got like 5 people on my XBL Friends list and like 3 on Steam. The CWCki forums are easily the most active I am online anywhere anymore...

...and I KNOW if I peek my head out, if they so much as connect me to this place, those fascists will come rampaging down on us like the Chandlers at a Country Cookin'. It's so fucking annoying.
 
Looks like Anita Sarkeesian is PERSONALLY responsible for censorship of dissenting twitter accounts now, since she is too scared to directly combat her critics, all by bawwing to twitter about how her critics are evil misogynistic monsters

4Chan has been raked through the coals in the mainstream media, why is moot so concerned about a Cracked article against the site? It seems to me that he is just tired of 4Chan and wants to get away from it.

It honestly reminds me of the Project Chanology stuff. What is/was project chanology? Raids done on the church of Scientology. Eventually, Faggory hit a major overload and discussion on it was banned. Not sure if the 'no raiding' rule was active at the time, but either way I am seeing parellels if we go by the theory that the mods are tired of having to deal with it.

In one sense the pro-gamergate people still have won though. Yeah, Gawker and such still exist, but any credibility they have had has been kicked hard in the nuts. The kind of people who still visit it are the kind of people who you would never convince, anyways. Thats a victory in my book, at least.

I doubt it had anything to do with Cracked. Perhaps he's realizing he doesn't want to be associated with just 4chan for the rest of his life but in order to branch out he's willing to schmooze a bit, cater to a few people he believes could influence that. I honestly don't know. I would want to think even m00t realizes he isn't exempt from one of the unspoken rules of the internet: don't piss off 4chan.

Moot could have sold or transferred control of 4chan to someone else if he doesn't want the responsibility.

Yes, he will forever to be associated forever with 4chan
Yes, he will still deal with some 4chan shit, possibly some retaliation.

But once control has been formally transferred he can say "Not my problem, I don't run that site anymore."
 
Yeah I am also hesitant to believe that log is real. You're going to drop 4chan shattering dox but not name any of the mods involved? Okay. (Also, for what it is worth, "moot is going to sell 4chan because of: tired of the feds/greedy jewt/etc." has been a rumor as long as 4chan has been around.)

That said, looks like I might be partially eating my words about 4chan getting shut down by proud kinfolk activists. I still don't think 4chan is going to disappear entirely but Gamer Gate getting blanket banned from the site is a bit bewildering (although it is worth noting that it's entirely dependent on if mods are paying attention, I've seen small periods where there are active threads for hours and periods where even mentioning it gets you banned). It also has the side effect of seriously shitting up certain boards since everyone's spamming about other chans and complaining that the mods are giant faggots.
