This was a statement (supposedly) made by an employee of Reuters:There was something mentioned pages ago (tried searching, no dice) about Reuters saying that the video game journalists had no journalistic integrity. I was wondering if it was a CMA type thing, since the mainstream news media have done, uh, questionable things (the big four, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX), or if the video games journalism industry was that scummy. It looks like it may be the latter after all.![]()
Jesus fucking christ they're willing to dox people who just talk about this shit.In "I don't know what's going on anymore" news:

coincidentally, Jason Miller, the founder of #NotYourShield, got doxed and has been fired from his job due to SJWs fucking with people at his work. So maybe this isn't fiction after all.
I don't believe in coincidences. Expect the Gamergate threads on there purged within a few hours. And removed from the archive. At some point in the last few hours (right now is 13:00 PM GMT) the Escapist website has been taken down
The forums being one of the ONLY havens of gamergate activity and archiving
Ya know i really fcking hope this is just a coincidence
If they're willing to doxx that's significantly more sobering than DMCAs or DDOS attacks. While I am not a gamer I do hope it is just a coincidence as well.
The SJW's of the world are not above using underhand tactics to get there point across, and I would not put it past them to do a DDOS or go after the host with DMCA requests etc.
Okay, I just have to ask, What the fuck is going on? I don't understand any of this. I know "Zoe made a shitty game" and that's it. What are people getting so pissed off about?
I work for Reuters. I'm a journalist in the media business.
Back in 2008, I sat in a conference and reviewed some proposals to integrate news sources focused on electronic gaming into our RSS service as niche content providers.
We considered IGN, Gamespot, and a few other syndicated online info feeds.
Now, in order to white label a source as affiliated with Reuters, you need to run through a checklist of ~100 items that are necessary for journalistic integrity. The source and its organization has to score at least a 60 out of 100 for it to be considered fair and unbiased.
These tests are carried out by senior journalists, editors, and investigators.
NONE of the gaming publications scored higher than a 15. For reference, the National Enquirer scored a 38 and the MSNBC blogosphere scored 44.
Some failures included:
- Economic ties with publishers
- Acceptance of favors
- 0% of staff held journalism degree
- Very small percentage worked in other major publications
- No real editing process
- No accountability
tl;dr: Gaming "journalism" is a joke and the laughingstock of reporting media. Continue to read these publications if you want, but assume that everything you read is biased or an outright lie.
I will! Thank you father!Go out and boycock to the extreme!

The Escapist has been hit with a DDOS attack.
Oh, no, there will still be video and computer games that will do very well, but the industry as a whole will be weaker as a whole, at least temporarily.Because of how prolific the industry is at a low level (talking about indie devs here) I doupt there will be a crash in the same way there was during the Atari Age.
A dip due to lack of journalism? Sure. But games that spread via word of mouth (Five Frights at Dennys) dont *need* it.
Unless the maker was part of the whole conspiracy (it really needs a name thats not Quinspiracy because its not about her anymore, nor is she the center of it, just a prolific member) with Silver String Media and all that and nobody told me, that game did perfectly fine being spread around by word of mouth. And it deserves it, to tell you the truth...
Well, the only thing "right-wing" I've seen about it is Brietbart, which took a mostly neutral and informative to it, and even that was (and I may be paraphrasing here) "it's the same thing that leftists have done for years, and hopefully this will open younger people's eyes to their tactics" or something. One thing that worries me is the fringe right. If they hijack the Gamergate movement, they'll turn this into another liberal vs conservative issue, and no one wins.
...yeahfeminist hacking groups

Mundane matt and IA don't have anything to do with this controversy. They just report on it. They're willing to shoot the messenger to strike fear into anyone who dares question their extremist positions. This is the price of so called "social justice" a complete dissolve of anything resembling morals and ethics in favor of extremist positions.
If Mundane Matt or IA do get doxxed they could press charges against Moot if these charges are correct.

Gamergate isn't going anywhere folks. If anything it's going to go nuclear within the next few months.

About the only place I trusted for game reviews was Zero Punctuation, and now down goes The Escapist. The Escapist has been hit with a DDOS attack.
Escapist is back up, really doubt they got DDOSed. Haven't they been trying to stifle #gamergate talk?
