I think people are starting to realize that no amount of information is going to end this. Zoe has already done a ton of bad shit but is often viewed as the victim because the information that proves otherwise only circulates by word of mouth or image files. It's been proven multiple times that Kotaku writers were only looking out for their friends and offering nothing resembling a disclosure (except they went back and added them recently once all this shit happened) but nothing really happened. I think that's making many people frustrated and confused so when some journalist shows up and pretty much says "I'll take it from here" he's met with open arms.
The funny thing is that anything associated with 4chan had a shit reputation before going into this. Even if things blow up against /v/ it won't change things that much so in a way they're one of the few groups that will come out of this pretty much how they went in.
I don't get those people who still rely on that stuff. It's completely insane in this day and age to rely on written reviews, when there are LPs showing the actual gameplay in real time. Maybe because it can be spoilerrific, but who cares if you have a plot point from the first, like, 5% of the game spoiled? On youtube, it doesn't matter as much if the player is biased, because you still see the gameplay right in front of you and can make your own decision. The bigger issue I have with gaming press is when they act as a gatekeeper on who gets coverage (friends with benefits?). because you can't judge whether a game is good or bad if you've never heard of it. Also, fuck clickbait.I'm glad I don't buy games based on reviews anymore. I mostly go by what my friends recommend or whatever is popular on the internet. Actually, most of the games I've bought recently I got because someone I follow on YouTube did a one-off playing it and I liked what I saw. Still, I know there are a lot of people who put faith in gaming journalism, and it really does cost people time and money. It also promotes mediocre games at the expense of fantastic ones.
I've been wondering this for a while, but why doesn't Anita just get a Gamefly subscription? It would be cheaper than buying all those games.
Gamefly is still around? Man I remember playing with that as a kid.I've been wondering this for a while, but why doesn't Anita just get a Gamefly subscription? It would be cheaper than buying all those games.
Fuuuuuuuck.Add Cracked and their clickbait shit to the list of uninformed asshats taking the side of Quinn.
I see commercials for it every week on TV.Gamefly is still around? Man I remember playing with that as a kid.
I insisted before that Cracked hasn't gone full SJW, this article on the other hand gave me second thoughts.Add Cracked and their clickbait shit to the list of uninformed asshats taking the side of Quinn.
Good point. This whole mess does make me appreciate the casual games industry a lot more. Sure a lot of the games are cookie cutter, it's choked with hidden object stuff and we're probably never going to see another game in the Jojo or Dash series, but at least the creators aren't dicks.Because then she couldn't scam people out of money.
