-the pope is evil and indulgent(again, strange considering P. Faggot's "Pope Hat.")
If he has a "pope hat" he's a bishop.
Her thinking the pope is evil and indulgent makes me think she has more Protestent views (Protestants, I think, have bishops), but Jace claims to be Catholic.
She may dislike the current pope for his acceptance of things which old school Catholics still think are sins (One of the big things is his acceptance of homosexuality.)

It's possible this is some sort of pseudo-Catholic sect with an anti-pope as a leader. We had a thread on an anti-pope recently.

IIRC, the current pope downplayed it (like, "it's no big deal" type downplaying), not necessarily gave it a thumbs up (the media may have played it differently). Protestants don't have bishops...well, it depends on what denomination you are, because there are dozens of groups that splintered in the last 400 years (there's a difference between United Methodist and regular Methodist, Southern Baptist v Northern Baptist, etc..."Bible" or "Community" churches are independent of each other)

I sort of fought with myself over the Christ zone stream. On one hand, it was entertaining as usual, but on the other it really made Gail's own mental illness clear. In my opinion we're witnessing a severely mentally ill parent raise a severely mentally ill son, which will only end badly. Not weening here, but if things get worse for Jace, calling Adult Protective Services is very much a viable option (not only to help Jace, but Gail too). I'm not going to say that Gail is a bad person, because I've seen relatively very little of her, but I think we can all say that her perfect storm of religious fanaticism, homophobia, xenophobia, and control issues don't just appear out of nowhere.

What church does Gail goes to and what is this Forgotten Bible she says? After the Christ Zone, I cannot comprehend what tract of Christianity Gail picks up from besides her schizophrenia.

Personally, I think the Forgotten Testament isn't available online - or it's extremely hard to find because of this conspiracy novel. Pastor Faggot gave out print copies.
I also think the 'church' really might be the pastor's living room, as someone in the thread suggested, but he's moving into a storefront soon. I think it might be a tiny sect trying to gain a foothold (which is bizarre thought for me, living in a village where the only church was built in the 12th century)

Remember that Jace was literally flipping over cars and shit like that before Gail's intervention. Yes, these are both crazy people. But if Gail can keep car keys out of Jace's hands, she's doing the world a favor.

I'm definitely not disputing that, but if she was a proper custodial care giver that never would have happened. Hell, he would have never started living in the weed cottage, let alone had access to a vehicle, drugs, or been able to discontinue his medication.

Jace clearly isn't going to therapy (which is essential with his mental illness/meds), and Gail thinks jesus-water-melting-crystal-christian-weiners are going to cure him and make him a good straight American boy.

Is living with Gail better for him than being left to his own devices? Probably. Is living with Gail even a moderately good situation for him in the long term? No.

Jace is catholic because of trolling to cure him of islam. Episcopalian Protestants have bishops but 'pope hat' could be a cap that is more widely worn in charismatic churches. I'm not sure what to make of jace's forgotten testament but remeber jace does not view religion as most people do, he would not see established canon as in any way sacred. He may have said this is from the forgotten testament because he thinks it sounds cool and it gave him a chance to claim something was biblical that his mother couldnt contradict. It's the kind of thing a small child might do but at times thats exactly what jace acts like.

i think its most likely this is some tiny independant charismatic church being used as a cashcow by pastorfaggot. hence why gail struggled to answer what denomination. Charismatics rarely describe themselves as such, its a moniker given to them by other churches indicating that they recruit via charisma and social groups rather than good doctrine and theology. This would match up quite well in my opinion.
