I think we're about to hit the stage where a top team will straight up stop marking him, as they know he can't move any faster than a brisk pace nowadays and isn't the terrifying explosive player who could get the ball on the halfway line, take on five players and score a wonder goal anymore. Hell, he hasn't been that for a good 3 years now.

Is he really? He's contributed to every argentina goal bar a few in every full game he's played this tournament, you could even argue this surpasses his 2022 campaign.

You can put any player in the world in the position and conditions that he was put in in the final and the odds of them putting on a masterclass wouldn't be very high either.

Do keep in mind that one of the two shots was messi's and the other (simeone's) Messi directly created. Both coming in the final 3 minutes of the game when spain decided to finally sit back and take a break from raping argentina. I doubt even prime Messi could do something about it, spain simply outclassed a mediocre to decent argentina side that was mostly on messi's back.

Originally signed a 99 year lease. Interestingly West Ham United pays approximately £4.4 million a year in Premier League rent for the London Stadium. However, following their relegation to the Championship, a special clause in their 99-year lease automatically halves this figure to around £2.2 million. Taxpayers cover the remaining operational costs.

West Ham have already sold in excess of 50,000 season tickets for the coming season, the highest ever for a Championship club.

Compare the total cost over 99 years for West Ham to the estimated £100 million Spurs paid for their stadium.

100 years lease iirc, which would have break clauses (i hope). So like 90 years left

Problem is building a new one, Boleyn is already houses so we have no real estate to use (and no assets to sell to fund it). I honestly think the best way forward would be to buy the stadium and have full control on adapting it into being better for football usage
 
Well I suppose it's back to watching Premier League and seeing Liverpool/Arsenal/Man City win n! times.

I wonder if this means you can afford to keep Bowen. I know the EFL is changing over to a new method for cost controls and it might have been trouble but selling him might allow the finances to balance out for this year and let you push for promotion

This is why I want to get invested in the MLS. The concept of parody and any team could theoretically win is something different than any other league really, but I sit down to watch a game and there is no possession or patterns of play. Its just a bunch of brutes trying to launch through people and it isn't fun to watch

So if West Ham sold 50,000 season tickets, that's 1,150,000 tickets sold this year to cover the expense of renting out their stadium. So if every ticket was just 2 pounds, then they make a profit right away on their stadium situation. That is such an unreal deal, I can't believe they locked in something that long

With the lease you guys got, I wouldn't think of building a stadium until the last 15 years of the lease tbh

MLS won't ever be a option to watch for me simply bc of the different timezones.
Same for the Brazilian and Argentinian league which I'd really like to get more into. And of course it's a matter of simply having time. In 16 days 2. Bundesliga starts. I follow both Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, then there is Champions League and usually follow the German teams in Europa and Conference League too. This is already way to time consuming but then I also follow, to a lesser degree tho, Serie A, La Liga and the Dutch league. Last season I also started to follow the J-League a bit when I discovered that they are streaming matches free on YouTube. Usually it's in the morning so I can catch a match while having breakfast which is neat.

I need to find some sort of football sugar daddy who just pays me to watch all day football matches and doesn't want anything in return.

Yeah but I'd guess that Guardiola will be a horrible national team coach bc 1. he can buy any player he wants to have for his suqad and 2. he won't have the amount of time to drill his tactics into the team that he has a club manager. The only national team I can see him coaching succesful is the Spanish one. I'd always thought that if he takes up a national stint then it will be 1000% for the Spaniards.

Oh 1000% agree he could only manage a team like Spain. But Italy needs a miracle and they are reaching out to a manager that they think can fix their problems instead of trying to fix their broken youth development

Already confirmed he's staying, think he adjusted his contract somewhat. Maybe it'll change if a ridiculous offer arrives but it seems he's set on getting us back up. Between him and Taty staying, we're in for a good chance of promotion. Just need to sort LW now, our options are some unproven brazilian and Maxwel Cornet

Oh absolutely, as much as fan groups moan, there really is no reason to up sticks as opposed to just improving what's there (just needs to be closer to the pitch, honestly). Stratford is really good for transport (compare to White Hart Lane), and whilst the Olympic park and Westfields do drag the 'local' atmosphere down, Hackney Wick and Stratford High Street are close enough for a pre-match pint

Restructuring his contract is a great move to stay in the new cost structure. I am still looking up what is happening with Oxford United to see what the full details are but it might be switching the pendulum massively to the other side of things

Gonna be honest with you. That is exactly the thing I expected to happen. They are sore losers, this is their nature. People were acting shocking because they never saw it before. But anyone on South America knew exactly what was going to happen. For us it would be shocking if they DID act in a respectable manner.

So for us it was quite a normal and expected reaction to be humiliated that way.

Also in latin america twitter every game lefties, women and fags were discussing if it was morally right to root for ANY TEAM. they were racists, homophobics, misoginists and so and so. And it was so much infuriating. I don't give a shit if Argentina is a colony fighting the colonizers, or they said something about black people. I just want them to lose. They could field Jesus Christ against Hitler, Stalin, Trump and Pol Pot and I would still want Aegentina to lose.

Social networks gave voice to many people that shouldn't.

Oh, to be 39 and still play like that. Shame he probably won't play the next World Cup, but I'm okay with that. Already won in 2022 and I can't ask for more.

Also I guess I'll have to use this thread to post about Boca Juniors. Last time we won 2-0 meanwhile our rival (River) lost 3-1 :story: something good had to happen.
