Or do you think China doesn't want the world to see them hosting a big event after the 2008 Olympics that was a gigantic success?
That was 18 years ago when China's provincial finances weren't a dumpster fire.

And what about the amenities that Qatar had in 2022 with a gigantic aircon? Where is it for both players and public?
Half the stadiums that are venues in the US are air conditioned.

And Saudi Arabia managed to buy their way into hosting 2034. I'm sure their PR budget is gonna be in full force leading up to it. Speaking of, of the 15 stadiums planned to host games, 10 of them are brand new, and here's what they're supposedly going to look like. Oh, and they're probably not gonna serve alcohol either.
IIRC Fifa made Brazil lift their alcohol bans for the 2014 world cup. They will make the Saudis cuck. You will drink Budweiser and you will like it.

Morocco wanted to host this year cup and got outbid by US, and they still hosted Afcon recently.

There are so many countries that still want to host it. Or do you think China doesn't want the world to see them hosting a big event after the 2008 Olympics that was a gigantic success?
Wanting to and being able to are two different things. Afcon is consistently an exercise in proving that non of the hosts should ever host anything but another afcon shitshow.
The FIFA hosting requirements are insane nowadays. 16 stadiums seating min 40000, accommodations for 48 teams and an ever growing amount of fans, the infrastructure to have all of those move around.
Qatar pussied out of actually delivering the 12 stadiums they should have had a decade early and ended up with 8. We're less than a decade out and the next oil money huffing shithole hosting isn't anywhere on track to build their ten new stadiums either.
The continental/national federations got greedy (they're at fault for what fifa does, and not just the bald homo) for giant events making even more money (e.g. 10m participation money for some corrupt island monkeys while the dutch youth system built their team) and thats what they got. This wc is going to go perfectly well enough, I'm happy the americans are hosting it and I'm happy that they're rinsing the retards that go in person for all that it's worth.

yeah Brazil folded immediately. Saudis however will just pull a Qatar, promise concessions and then just never implement them

While it's true they cucked Brazil back in the day, they were in turn cucked by Qatar who changed their mind days before the tourney started. Personally I think Saudi will do the same thing from the start and restrict drinking to designated fan zones/times except for the rich who'll be allowed booze in their private boxes.

Brazil never had a ban on alcohol since that is a state by states issue, of all 26, just a few had bans and it was caused more by fights inside the stadium than anything. What was banned was the selling of alcohol in CBF competitions. In regional competitions it wasn't banned at all and even then people would rather drink outside anyway because it was cheaper and way more fun.

And even after the WC they continued to sell openly anyway

Freddy LA tweeting his way through America while following the games is my favorite thing about the pre world cup so far

This is probably my favorite of all them

I'm looking forward to 2010 world cup opener rematch between Mexico and SA. I just know Bafana Bafana will be able to pick up the vict....

Between 2026 and 2030, I think multi-nation hosts are going to have to be the norm for future World Cups, especially because hosting games is super expensive for the cities, just like with the Olympics. It's the main reason then-mayor of Chicago Rahm Emanuel said no to Chicago hosting games in 2026 even though they did in 1994. FIFA wanted Soldier Field, which underwent a $632 million renovation in 2002 and 2003, to have a dome built too.

The US Germany exhibition match was at the field. It was hot as balls both in and outside the stadium.
EDIT:
Ok I thought I was having a stroke but there are a lot more teams (16 more) this year than in 2022. As such there is a round of 32 before the normal round of 16, quarter, semi, finals. So eight of the 24 teams in the bottom half will still advance. What are the rules for determining the "3rd Group V/W/X/Y/Z"?

Última edición:
Chicago Fire clash between Brian Gutierrez and Mbokazi. The red card on Bafana Bafana was kinda bullshit. Gutierrez tripped over his own two feet. But FIFA and Televisa getting the result they wanted so far.

Mexico really didn't know how to play against 10 men after the 1st red, 2nd red and Mexican red was comical but decent opener..

I take back everything positive I have said, for the ugly score overlay alone this is a dog shit world cup.

Lucky for us they're in talks for even more teams, which will then deliver high quality football in like 11 countries at once. And if the quality of play of south africa is anything to go by we're in for a real treat.

trigger happy ref, but mainly skill issue for the south african defender, give him a chance like that and he will take it

Man I wish the cup would be on Mexico only. The first game felt like a final. Lets see the next game in a few minutes.
If the euro cucks could handle the heat better, this World Cup could have been hosted at a bunch of college football stadiums. It would honestly be glorious
