Bri'ish kiwis... is it truly over for you guys?

Also,

I get it given the history of bottling, but Argentina are due a beating unless Scaloni has the courage to change things up. I think Tuchel could drag you over the line this time, but we'll see.
Nigga you have one billion pacey ngubus, every single argentina game the team is dying in the end because it is literally the oldest team in the whole competition with the average of 30 years old. And as the game goes on they get worse and worse. Until something magical happens and they score out of nowhere.

Dont let them stay with the ball. They are playing like shit the ENTIRE TOURNAMENT, it is infuriating bottlejobs from their adversaries.

Just don't do stupid shit and NEVER LET THEM get many chances.

That is what you need to do, Saka alone can score on dibu. This is totally a doable game.

What you must fear is what comes after, either team... England, this isn't coming home....
Fuck pessimism then, it's CAMIN 'OME.

So now the youtoob algo keeps flooding me with these compilations. I guess there's some clicks and money to be made.

I am gonna wish cast the most Riotmaxing results possible. Frogs beat Spaniards with the most ass aids last minute goal at 0-1. Argies lose to Bongs 2-3. And when it looks like it's coming home with a two goal lead the Frogs manage to tie by the 90 min mark and win because the UK Ubugus choke when it's their time to shoot.
That way Spain, Argentina, UK and France all burn.

You guys just reminded me that FIFA 99 was my first game in the series. I never skipped the intro.
For me it was France 98, an absolutely incredible game that blew my fucking mind after years of playing top down SWOS type football games.

Overall I think football games peaked with either PES6 or FIFA '11 (or 10, basically the one which had ragdoll physics which was incredible for hacking) and ever since then they all became bloated fucking messes that were either too complicated to be fun or too easy. Doesn't help that most modern games feature the same fucking tactical shit I hate in modern football where you're constantly running into 4 players as the concept of crossing and having space is somehow alien.

There's just something magical about the PS2 era games where you could be defending a corner and score a goal in mere seconds with a defender booting it the fuck up the field. I also miss the old PS2 games with dedicated hack buttons. If I'm going down a goal and about to tackle the last man, you're goddamn sure I'm gonna make sure he's going in a wheelchair.

It was FIFA 98 for me. Blur's Song 2, Tubthumping maybe as well. I don't think there was horseshit about countries or clubs not being in it (to a limit). Absolute peak vidya.

I don't want Argentina to win. I want England to lose. I don't need to come up with a billion excuses to justify it. I just want to do it because it's a traditional grind to ragebait people on social media.
It's quite funny. The desire for England to lose in this thread lines up pretty well with Bluesky. Horseshoe theory in action I suppose, though at least here it's not because "muh colonisers!"

I'm American and I'd still like to see "It's coming home" actually happen. I'm tired of Messi (Argentina haven't played anyone), Spain plays dreadful football, and France are full of themselves, even for the French. I'm sure if England were to win, they'd soon become the villain, but I could enjoy the 60 year drought come to an end.

Also, I freaking love Harry Kane. Co-leading scorer on his team and hardly anyone talks about him. Leads football in scoring this year for club and country, not even the Ballon d'Or leader. Absolutely mad.

FIFA '95 was my first (and only) footie game. I think I still have the original cartridge buried somewhere in the attic next to Vectorman, James Pond 3 and the like.
I still have my FIFA 97 SNES cartridge but the footy game of my life was Ronaldinho Soccer 97

And this game isn't official at all, it was a romhack that included the brazilian teams to International Superstar Soccer made by bolivians to be sold in Brazil with spanish dubs.

This bring us to the fact that Brazilians already beat the FIFA yearly new game model decades ago with BOMBA patch. A modified version of Pro Evolution Soccer 6 that keeps up and add portuguese commentary and all the up to date players for almost 20 years now.

And they keep doing it to this day.

And the same happens with more modern games, they pick a version that they like, modify and continue playing that version not giving a single to game publishers. (Even more when there is no Brazilian teams in EA most of the time)

And the theme song is just something so ingrained in culture that every male knows it

So you have an entire alternate scene that is outside of the current football game micro transaction scheme that keeps playing the game that they love

I knew PES 6 was the King of community mods and patches but I didn't know it got so specific that countries have mods for their countries respective leagues. The autism involved in the PES modding community is off the charts.
