🦊 Furry Furry Fandom and Drama General

I can see your point there. Those that raise animals would be protective of any outside invaders like foxes destorying their investment simply out of natual instincts and an already shrinking habitat. Yet it amuses me the level some people go in actually keeping these guys in their homes such as this...

Is this that furry whose pet fox died, presumably from internal yiffing injuries?

Russia has domesticated foxes, they're called Silver Foxes.

Why anyone would keep a non-domesticated animal in the house is beyond me. They are expensive as all hell, about 5000 dollars to get one from Russia. They managed to domesticate them within 6 generations when investigating the science behind the domestication of species. By the 6th generation the red foxes were showing affection towards humans.

Yes, I know if those Russian foxes. It's no doubt that experiment proved it's hypothesis well. I wouldn't mind one of those if there was a breeder allowed to raise them over here.

No, that was RonRon, whose owner was gonna ditch him to be with his ONE TRU LUV which lasted like a week or something.
Yeah, Loki's owner seems more on the level than RonRon's. Created a nice environment for Loki to dart around the house like that.

Foxes are essentially dog rats. They have a tendency to fuck things up but a lot of people think they're cute. I think the main reason Foxes are so popular is because they're so prominent in folklore around the world, and they're also know for having a sort of cute vixen image about them.

Furries are terminally unimaginative faggots who are only interested in the most popular, photogenic animals.

Nearly all of them have wolf/fox/dragon fursonas because the "popufur" shit dominating every furry site/social circle was what introduced them to the subculture, so that's what they modelled their identity after. It's the same kind of aspergers thinking that makes trannies mime TV/pop culture stereotypes of women in an effort to seem feminine.

Contrary to what nearly every furfag would say, the furry fandom has never been about expression of the self; it's about fitting in and being part of a group identity, just like every internet subculture. The only individualistic furries are the popular ones who've manipulated their style or opinions into becoming a trend. Doing just that is the goal of all furries since it makes their identity and their values part of the hive mind, rewarding them with validation and power by means of popularity.

So really, is it any surprise that this retard can't think of another animal to torture besides a fox?

wow methinks this lady doth protest too much. Your fursona is a folf isn't it?

And the furry fandom is about sexualizing anthropomorphic animals, not expressing oneself. I feel that was always pretty obvious. Furry is basically a nicer word for "nerd pervert". As far as popular furries go, it's about the subject matter of the porn they are willing to draw, not about the style. So, if by "manipulating their style" you mean "drawing porn", then you'd be right.

I'm guessing I don't want to know what a folf is.

I meant how for example furries will turn their generic recolours into a "species" and try to make it become a thing, not unlike how cosplayers will throw shitfits over who started a fashion trend or tumblr/deviantartists will argue over who perfected a style of art that's in vogue. With respect to furries it'd actually be a three-way combination of all those things. Otherwise you're on the money.

Do furries object to characters with animals traits, such as animal ears, a animal tail, or other animal characteristics on an otherwise human body?
For instance, would dressing up as a neko boy/girl be sufficient or is a football team mascot outfit required?

Most furs have a laissez faire attitude regarding what constitutes a furry. Basically if you consider yourself to be a part of the furry fandom, then you are. Those who do not affiliate with the fandom but still draw anthropomorphic animals aren't considered furries by the fandom. A good example of that is Bobbie Jean Pentecost. She draws anthros as well as really pretty more humanoid creatures.

Feel free to draw your own conclusions, however BJ denies any affiliation with the fandom, besides taking their money. I think she's an incredible artist, especially considering she is legally blind. All of her art is fucking gorgeous.

I think you are greatly overestimating how many furries actually draw stuff. A huge majority of furs don't draw anything, but rather commission artists to draw their fursona or whatever. I am confident when I say that most don't try to be original and couldn't care less about originality. I'm not saying narcissistic furries don't exist, because they do, but they are in the loudest minority so it can understandably seem more prevalent that it actually is.

She certainly did very well for herself given the circumstances. These are exceptionally well made!

Reading the above made me think of that one BBC documentary on the subject, detailing how furry fandom meant different things to different people. Of course this video goes back about 14 years ago

This is very true, especially the non-originality part.
