I don't understand, i fundamentally do not understand how something like this could possibly manifest.
To me it's almost as if they are doing exactly the opposite of what a healthy human being would do, akin to seeing the monster from the thing and saying "let's get chummy with that jolly fella".
What drives a person, especially someone so young, to get twisted and bent to such a degree they support pedophiles (LITERAL CHILD RAPISTS) and zoophiles (LITERAL ANIMAL RAPISTS).
These aren't things people naturally fall into, i don't remember these two groups being nearly as big as they were say.. 5 years ago?
Furries always had a reputation for housing some degenerate fucks but it's never been this bad before, the fact they're "showing their colors" leads me to believe something must be at work behind the scenes.

I can only explain this with people having too much time on social media and too many pozzed influences that drill this hogwash directly into their prefrontal cortex, mixed in with the misappropriation of pride movements which has weaponized them into vessels to spread these literal memetic hazards.
Even then the puzzle pieces just don't fit together, at least in my mind they do not, it's like looking at some strange despicable creature that operates on it's own perverted sense of logic and morality utterly beyond the average comprehension of a person.

I'm going to buck the trend, but it's always been there, even in the 1990s. Kiddy diddlers have always been in the fandom, and back then, the majority of web 1.0 furry sites had a link section for zoophile things. The difference is, it was kept mostly on the downlow back then.

Take Mitch Beiro and Ted Sheppard. Both were pretty well respected, famous artists, who would show up to conventions, sell art, have a lot of friends in the fandom. Then they get dinged for CP, and in Mitch's case, an actual sexual assault on a minor. There was another gay artist back in the early 2000s who was arrested on CP charges, and nearly the entire fandom erupted in support. The main excuses made was that mean ol' George W Bush was directing the AG to target furries for "twink art", then it came out he had some very bad stuff.

What happened when all three of these folks got out? They all went back into the furry/art scene in some way. Well except for Ted, he's dead now, but he was welcomed back by his friends, who would post long rants about how entire court system conspired against him. Mitch is out and still talks to his old friends, and that last guy, based on a check I did, is in some southern California art community, still making comic art.

People knew, they just didn't talk about it, mostly due to the fandom's unwritten rule about not criticizing people, and being "open and tolerant". Everybody knew who the zoophiles were because they were extremely open about it. Everybody knows about Dr. Samuel Conway's (Kage) "proclivity" to younger furs, but he still has a huge amount of friends and was never shamed, he just hid it, or else had a loyal fanbase that would screech that those allegations were baseless, and anyone who brought them up needed concrete, absolute proof. That lead to Kage basically being a kid in the candy store with his "family friendly" conventions. That was back when artists were signing their real names on their depraved furry art without a care in the world.

From a few conversations i've had since i made that post this has become a little clearer to me.
If anything the fact they're retarded enough to plainly fly these flags nowadays makes them a lot easier to spot and avoid.
Suppose that it's easy to see it differently though, as in my case i never really paid attention for the longest time nor gave it any thought beyond "oh it's probably just people making the same every furry is a dogfucker statement".
Doesn't distract from the fact the problem is bigger then i had imagined when i first started digging around and reading threads, seems these cockroaches really are a dime a dozen and seem to pop up in greater numbers the more of them you stomp out.

It managed to trend on r/furry, screenshotting a tweet by BetaEtaDelota. Beta has his own KF thread here, but he's also by far the most popular furry youtube channel targeted with 240K subscribers, more than all the others combined.

Sadly, the tweets by Beta don't seem to have been archived in time, because when I looked it up, it looks like he deleted the second tweet threatening legal action.

Purple was finally slapped with a warning from Youtube and had most of their DMCAs marked as fraudulent, having a mini-meltdown in the process. What makes this funnier is that TeamYouTube's Twitter actually replied to one of Purple's tweets almost immediately (after ignoring the dozens of complaints from other furries for the last two weeks).

To me, the funniest part about this entire incident is that YouTube ignored the problem for weeks on end, only bothering to take any action once someone moderately popular was targeted.

I’ve been saying this for years, except the “don’t need to be furries” part. If they can be swapped for humans with no changes to the plot, just admit it’s just because the creator wanted furries. There’s nothing wrong with admitting that or adding furries to a vanity project. The creator getting offended if people suggest it was not for anything other than that is silly. I would argue that the best reason to use furries (or weird creatures/aliens) is if you don't have the energy to deal with people accusing you of not being diverse enough. Too many white characters, or not enough black characters, who don't have dark enough skin, and also why didn't you put any asians in your story, huh? Awfully sus! Or if you did include black characters, you wrote their dialogue too "ethnic," or not ethnic enough, and failed to provide a real good look at the black experience...

If you tell your story with furries then all you have to worry about is if they're not gay or trans enough.

That's not how it works, unfortunately. Furries love to claim certain species are "coded" to specific real life ethnicities. So if your story features a dog character in a hoodie, they'll just claim all dog characters in your story are hoodie-Americans and bash you for being racist.

Furries in stories rarely have actual meaning to the plot. Even Zootopia could have replaced the animals with humans and few things in the plot would have changed, specifically because the plot didn't require furries to be integral in the story. If you can replace a furry character with a human and things in the story don't really change, the character didn't need to be a furry in the first place. It's the same thing with non-straight characters. There's no reason to bring up them being gay (outside of mentioning "she came with her wife to the party" if it's not integral to the plot. Furries should not have a place in study of animals in fiction. Furries are a result of degenerate humans.

Zootopia without animals would just be a movie about minorities commiting violent crimes in New York, fuelled by drugs introduced by a specific ethnic for the purpose of instigating animosity between races

Kind of weird to hold every vatnik accountable for putin's little escapade into ukraine, i get being pissed off about the war especially considering they lost one of their team members to it which sucks but if anything you're just shooting yourself in the foot with this revenue wise.
