Im unable to archive their site for some reason https://www.anthroverse.org/

its being headed up by a bunch of the dog fuckers that staff Mephit Furmeet (MFM) https://www.anthroverse.org/board This could be an interesting one to watch cause most new cons tend to die after the first couple of years.

If only @Potentially Criminal hadn't moved. He could have gone as an anthropomorphic sandwich.

The ad says they are "astrofurs". Is it like that one rich nepotism baby furry who got to ride Jeff Bezos' rocket into sub-orbit and said it was a space trip? Or does it mean they're so fat they're like planets? Me too, furries, me too, minus the degeneracy and scared pets.

There have been a few minor events in the past month or so. I didn't think it was worth bumping the thread for tiny updates, but just to keep a record, I'll quickly list some smaller highlights I've been holding on to:

The incredibly autistic three-way New Jersey convention drama seems to finally be coming to an end, because not only is GSFTW 99.9% likely to be fucking dead, Furged and TBO have finally picked different weekends. For 2027, Furged picked March, and TBO picked June.

Surprisingly, numerous East Coast conventions also changed their dates for next year as well. Fur the More is changing to April (previously ran in early March), and Anthrohio is changing to earlier in May (previously ran on Memorial Day weekend, aka the last weekend in May for you non-Americans).

Manick (the chairman of Western PA Furry Weekend) stepped down and was succeeded by someone named Rel. It is not clear whether Manick's resignation was related to the controversy last year involving featuring notorious politisperg HearthFox as a guest (whose behavior almost caused the event to be canceled), but it could have been a factor. Manick was also a featured guest at this year's Anthrohio, so it seems he departed on good terms. At least 2026's featured artist seems to be less of a liability.

Apparently, they are still facing some small drama this year because they completely removed their standard registration, making the lowest registration price $150. If you're curious about why the registration fee is so high, it mainly goes toward providing food (lunch and dinner are included for all three days of the event), and sponsors also received complimentary alcohol. The reasoning behind this change is that very few people chose the cheapest tier, but this understandably ticked off the furries who do not drink.

Speaking of Pennsylvania conventions, Anthrocon is happening in a few days, and it seems the strict parade rules will still be in place. As a refresher, AC implemented a new policy for the fursuit parade last year that prohibited "poodlers" from participating (fursuiters who do not properly cover their skin. If you have no clue what that means, I previously explained this here), which royally pissed off some parts of the fandom who did not like being told they were dressed inappropriately. So far, I haven't seen much discussion about this, nor has it been addressed on AC's social media, so it's unclear whether people have settled down or simply haven't noticed yet.

I think this has just completely settled down. Literally the only leverage the pro-poodling side had was that it will hurt the con's attendance, which is now demonstratively untrue. The con still hit max capacity, and the fursuit parade went exactly as long as it was supposed to, without being bogged down and extended by irrelevant cosplay and lazy people just throwing a random head on. As far as every actual attendee is concerned, the parade was a success and the rule change was a positive thing. The people still mad about it have absolutely no leg to stand and were never going to attend the con anyway.

Looking forward to the resurgence of the Discourse (tm) when the perpetually online crowd gets wind of the weather in Pittsburgh this weekend. The last time they had the parade with this kind of hot and humid weather, the Dorsai threw ice packs at fursuiters and started a drama when several of those ice packs burst on the costume heads.

The rumor is after being banned Crusader Cat has a new secret handle and fursuit. He plans to ghost Anthrocon 2026 and sneak into the Fursuit Parade and make fools of Uncle Kage and the Anthrocon Staff.

lol I just bumped his thread today with his embarrassing New Years Resolutions (it is now confirmed he lives with his parents at 39, and one of his resolutions was to brush his teeth).

That said this article is over a year old and doesn't seem to mention anything at all about Anthrocon 2026 so I dunno where you are getting that info from. He sneaked into the 2025 fursuit parade and then was banned.
