Stumbled across this CWC-level trainwreck of a site just a bit ago. Chock full of self-anointed furry vigilantes who go around judging other furries for the most ridiculous of shit. Like one guy who's High Crime is simply not using the right pronouns near trans people, the CIS Scum:

But the A+ #1 "At long last, have you no sense of decency?" moment was when these plushie-humping vigilantes are actually attacking a furry artist who's dying of Stage 4 cancer and accusing her of faking it for money (and tracing other people's art):

I know mocking furries as LOLcows is like shooting fish in a barrel, but this place shows that beneath the mundane's view of furries as being just weird but mostly harmless perverts in mascot costumes, they're really a vicious lynch mob of judgmental, trouble-making assholes as well (as the recent incident of one of the furry cons getting gassed out of their hotel).

They're not exclusive solutions. The bullet can be added before or after traditional means.
 
Furries are social wrecks IRL, with little to no social acuity. The ones I know: they are loud, inconsiderate of the people around them, just because they are so self-involved. I could go the rest of my life without meeting another fur IRL. "Normal" people make for much better friends, because they know how to hide their fucking power level.

Having these feelings, I do feel a more self-aware than other furs, as I haven't pulled a @mapdark, yet. I always try to be considerate of others, especially IRL, but most furs are so socially inept that they fail to see when they are being a burden.

That is why I dislike other furs.

I have met furries irl mostly out of my own curiosity. And I have to agree with John Freeman. Most of them are socially retarded, and are the sorts of people you wouldn't want to befriend at any point.

However. At the same time I've met furries irl that were unlike that at all. Like I met a furry game developer at a party that used to work for EA, and we had conversations about the games he developed. I've also met a handful of women furries as well.

The biggest thing to gleam from all of this is that social outcasts and the socially retarded flock to furries. But just like every group on the internet you do find people who avoid the stereotype.

That said you can still laugh at them for the stupid things they do.

Doesn't help that furries are the absolute world champions of the geek social fallacies. Even furries that "aren't like that" refuse to call out the ones that are, or make excuses because they're terrified of being bullies. Or, as OP put it, they'll call them out for stupid reasons that have nothing to do with the actual problems of the community. (Hi @mapdark!)

Surprisingly enough furries tend to be aware of their own lolcows. Like I know a great deal of Furries who are aware of Tumbles the Stairdragon.
 
i mean, i was just being a regular college kid on campus when one of my friends came up in a ridiculous clusterfuck of a fursuit in all kinds of crazy colors and bigass googly eyes, and she glomped me.

What if the furry hates other furries because something else like jealousy? Would they be half-way cured?
