Funko Fusion - I can feel the Soy from the trailer
Because God has clearly abandoned us, someone greenlit a Funko Pop video game.
Ignoring how this is a company that just had to dump over $30M of unsold product into a landfill, who is this actually for? The overlap between "people who collect Funko's" and "people who actually like video games" isn't as large as people think it is, despite how most Gaming Stores seem to be propping themselves up with the damn things nowadays, and I can only imagine the field day the legal team is having with all the respective IP owners....
I don't even know what kind 9f game it is adtercwatching the trailer. I'm guessing it's some online multiplayer crap. I didn't see any IP I'd be interested in even if it was good.
Fair enough. I just figured knowing how much stupid shit has a Funko nowadays, someones going to fuck up and put in something that isn’t Public Domain in this abomination.
FYE and Gamestop dedicating entire walls to these things made me decide to stop going into their stores. It's a shame because FYE used to have a good movie and music collection until they brought these and adult coloring books in, and Gamestop used to sell older generation games until "those consoles died" (quoting a Gamestop employee verbatim) and they stocked action figures and trinkets in their place.
So it's like Lego games/movies where it relies entirely on other people's IPs but totally bastardized through infantilized stylization. Only Lego has legitimate childhood nostalgia whereas Funko Pops are props with artificial collectibility created for low IQ adults.

The issue is that funko is literally the antithesis of lego. You can't do shit with it out of your own creativity, it's an already made block of plastic that should not interact with anything else.

I remember hearing something about staff abuse including lots of crunch, though I can't remember where the hell I heard this from.
If it is true though, him moving to this new studio with a "diverse" team of troons is extremely based because now instead of treating normal people like shit, he gets to treat troons like shit.

That's a shame, his videos about programming 3D graphics on the Sega Genesis and remastering Sonic 3D Blast were cool.

Well, nothing was ever said about it but it's a little bizarre that he'd leave a team only to try and recreate the entire thing with unsubtle ersatzes under the same publisher. Basically what @Metaverse Knight said.
Now, I must clarify this a little. I got wind of those rumours from an extremely dubious source (A reddit thread detailing him leaving Traveller's Tales) but the guy has done a few things in the time that I've followed him that has rubbed me the wrong way. Something is just *off* about him. I'm being pretty judgemental here (lol saying that on *this* forum) but my gut just doesn't like the guy ...and I say this as someone who religiously watched his videos. They got me into assembly programming and all sorts of things.
