We have an air date: October 12. A応P returns for the opening theme, "nice to NEET you!"
The anime will be airing every Monday night at 1:30Am Japanese Time (which means that every episode will come out on Monday for us westerners, since a day in Japanese television starts at 5Am and not at midnight like in western TV schedules).

Speaking of air date! Official new designs were confirmed back in August, as well as the poster for this season having been released just a few days ago with the release date.

If any of you feel like something is up with the artstyle this season that's because Eiji Abiko (the animator behind Iyami Kart) is in charge of this season's character design department. IIRC the early reveal of the designs had a mixed reception online (mostly in the form of the tiny-face Karamatsu meme from Japanese twitter), but knowing that the show has four different animators, and with the entire staff returning for S3, the artstyle being a hit or miss here should not influence much for the near future.

Today is Akatsuka-sensei's birthday! (Edit: It was his birthday in Japan at the time I made this post. His birthday is September 14.)

Here is the promo video that was made for Late Night! The Genius Bakabon:
The extremely limited animation in the first part is lampshaded. Eel Dog wants Papa to stop bringing up drugs. There's a subtle phimosis joke.

I'd like to think Akatsuka-sensei would love both Osomatsu-san and Late Night Bakabon because they're both hilarious.

"Nice to NEET You" sounds... nice.

And now there's a message from Daisuke Ono:

Finally, a message from Takahiro Sakurai:

Has everyone in this thread seen the season premiere? It was about as crazy as I expected it to be.

Personally, I always enjoy the small bits of meta-commentary they do in the first episode of each season, especially because I'm absolutely sure those are legit "criticisms" the show has gotten, especially from the western side of the audience (since everything is so PC and diversity-quota-based here in the west). It honestly reminded me of South Park in a way, and I cannot wait for next Monday to get back on the tradition!

The newest episode was amazing! I loved all three segments. I didn't think I was really going to like the last one until the traps appeared.

I thought the first segment was pretty funny. I hope we get the kitty paw Ichi had as merch.

Also, still no update on those damn bots. I still theorize they're gonna try to kill Ichi or something,

Is it just me or this season is taking a more serialized turn in comparison to the previous two seasons? Sure, there has always been a timeline, a continuity despite the status quo always remaining supreme, but between the AIs seemingly keeping track of the sextuplets and trying to win their approval, and the fact that they addressed Totoko's and Nyaa-chan's dynamic in the movie (in comparison to their dynamic in the show) is causing me to believe we could be having an overarching plot this season.

And, in all honesty, I'm all down for it! Because I loved what the movie had going on, and I like seeing them experiment with the plots, characters and skits.

I just LOVED Nyaa-chan and her baby, I didn't think I needed to see her in a ponytail this badly until now.

The ichimatsu radio part dragged on too long for me, especially since the only thing todo really did was literally explain the joke. I get that it's the whole boke and tsukkomi comedy thing but it just didn't land IMO. I enjoyed the other skits though.

I didn't like it when Nyaa-chan had her hair in twintails in the first season finale, but I loved the ponytail in this episode.

They made a stage version of one of the drama CDs!
