Same. I was freshly 18 when GG took off and had already been basically a 6 hour a day lurker (Just left high school and didn't have a job at the time) on 4chan so I was very invested in it. The main thing that bothered me was Moot coming out to say 4chan was "never a free speech website" which directly contradicted many of the things he said in his 2010 Ted talk where he discussed how anonymity was important to protecting peoples ability to speak freely online. Whether or not 4chan was branded as or touted as a free speech platform it was and had been for years. It was blatantly hypocritical to ban GG discussion and done to hide dirt about his friend. It was a huge backstab to his userbase and people were rightfully very mad about it.
