Crime Fort Hood Military base killings 2020

The family of a missing Fort Hood, Texas, soldier named Vanessa Guillen is pleading for help after one month with no answers. The 20-year-old US Army soldier's mom, Gloria Guillen, is pleading for the public to help her find her missing daughter, who has not been seen since April, when she was working at the Fort Hood military base in Texas.

Vanessa's family is urging the public to sign petitions, speak out, and join their search parties, and they are concerned about the soldier's well-being after her mom says her daughter claimed she was being sexually harassed inside the military base by a sergeant. She also said someone from inside the base told her that her daughter had been "kidnapped." Tom Rheinlander, the spokesperson for Fort Hood, released a statement about Vanessa's disappearance and said the Army is doing its own investigation and search by sending 500 soldiers from the 3rd Cavalry Regiment to search for her on foot in and around the area.

Vanessa was last seen on April 22.
It's been more than a month since Vanessa was seen or heard from. The Stars and Stripes newspaper reported that an investigation done by Fort Hood officials and an Army Criminal Investigation Command, known as CID, revealed that the 20-year-old was last seen at 1 p.m. on April 22 in the parking lot of the Regimental Engineer Squadron Headquarters for the 3rd Cavalry Regiment at the base. Vanessa's car keys, the keys to her room, her identification card, and wallet were later found in the armory room where she was working earlier that day.

Her mom shared the details of the phone call she had with her daughter.
Her mom tearfully shared the story of a phone call she said she had with her daughter prior to her disappearance in which Vanessa claimed she was being harassed by one of the sergeants at the military base. Her mom told her to report him. "Mom, others have reported him but they don't believe them," the mom claims her daughter said, and then asked her not to get involved for fear that she would be retaliated against.

The mom shared a conversation she had with a sergeant about her daughter's disappearance. "A sergeant talked to me anonymously, and I can't say his name because he said 'If you say it, they'll kill me.' He said, 'They kidnapped your daughter inside. And the corruption is horrible and there's tunnels.'" She is asking for this situation to be investigated and is looking for a lawyer to help their case.

The family and members of the community have taken matters into their own hands and have launched their own search parties. More than 60 family members and friends came together at Miller Springs Park in Temple, Texas, to search for her on May 30. "I am hoping we can cross a big area off the map. It's a huge area we need to search," Vanessa's older sister, Mayra Guillen, told 6News at the gathering. "I feel that she is still with all of us, and that hopefully someone confesses," the sister said. "Or we can somehow find her ourselves before the authorities because its been over a month we need to keep pushing."
She added, "We aren't going to stay quiet. For as long as this goes on we are going to keep it going."

I fucking called it.

Christ, is this place like Dulce? What other fucked up shit are they gonna find there?

Never been there; but I'd be willing to bet there are tunnels under the base, because a lot of shady shit seems to come from there, especially a lot of gang/cartel shit, and they're in bed with the glow-in-the-darks. Then some unlucky PFC or Sgt or whoever stumbles across some shady shit, and gets shut up permanently.

Also, are armory rooms not usually jacked to the tits in cameras? You'd think the place where they store weapons would have some surveillance.

Could be, but generally no, at least none of the ones I've been in. They have solid security measures to stop you from getting inside, and cameras watching the doors. But once you're inside, it's whatever, and even then, gonna depend on the base. You're probably asking why and the main reason, money. No one wants to front the cost for it, unless a lot of bad shit keeps happening and they decide it's warranted.

Sgt. Elder Fernandes

  • Sgt. Elder Fernandes, a 23-year-old Fort Hood soldier, was found dead on Tuesday, his family's lawyer, Natalie Khawam, told The Boston Globe.
  • Fernandes had accused a male superior officer of sexually assaulting him in April but was harassed for doing so, his mother told The Globe.
  • He was hospitalized on August 11 and was last seen by a staff sergeant who drove him home on August 17. His family said they didn't know why he was in the hospital to begin with.
  • "I just can't go back to Boston without my son. I need answers," his mother, Ailina Fernandes, told The Globe.

A 23-year-old Fort Hood soldier who had reported being sexually abused and went missing more than a week ago was found dead on Tuesday evening.
Natalie Khawam, the lawyer for Sgt. Elder Fernandes' family, told The Boston Globe that his body was found hanging from a tree about 25 miles from the Army base in Killeen, Texas.
A person walking by a railroad track in Temple came across Fernandes' body, and investigators identified him with his driver's license found in a black backpack nearby, Khawam said.
"Our worst nightmare has happened," Khawam said in a statement to The Globe. "One of our own, Sergeant Elder Fernandes has been found dead today. We are sickened by this tragedy that has happened one too many times. We are heartbroken for Elder Fernandes's family."

The statement said Khawam was seeking a congressional investigation of Fort Hood.
Fernandes was discharged from the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center on August 17 and given a ride home by his staff sergeant, KWKT-TV reported last week, citing Fernandes' family and the Killeen Police Department. His family said they didn't know why he was in the hospital.
He didn't show up to work on August 18 and was reported missing. Fernandes' car was found in his unit's parking lot, Fort Hood said in a press release.
'I can't resume my life not knowing'
Fernandes' mother, Ailina Fernandes, told The Globe that when she flew to Texas last week, she was unaware that her son had accused a male superior officer of groping him in a supply closet in April, or that reporting this resulted in him being harassed and bullied.

She also said she didn't know that he had become suicidal or that he had been transferred to another unit because of safety concerns.

My first thought when seeing this thread was "WHAT IS GOING ON AT FORT HOOD?"
I knew a guy who was stationed there years ago and he had nothing good to say about it and it certainly contributed to his alcoholism. But man has it been rife with deaths, missing persons, and weird goings on.

did he mention anything specific on why he hated it?

He only ever complained about how stupid everything was, typical military bullshit. He was a stryker mechanic and had to work long hours fixing a thing that was terminally broken, way he put it. On top of having to do big army bs that everyone hates.
No mention of any scandals or anything but apparently everyone was a depressed alchy from top to bottom.

Weird I was reading something similar today. 15 people have died at or around Ft Hood this year. Some are murder suicides, but they are all a bit strange. Or at least the article made it sound mysterious.

Hanged from a tree!?! That's the most disgusting thing I have ever heard, we should tear down every brick of fort hood and start a fire and then salt th- oh he wasn't black? Why is this news?

Hanging oneself from a tree seems like the most cliched, anachronistic and deliberate way possible of deleting yourself. Want to end it all quick and easy? Suck-start a shotgun or Roll Safe with your favorite semi-auto. Slit wrists in the bathtub maximizes the drama while still bringing a quick death. Even if you're gonna go out of in a blaze of auto-erotic asphyxiation glory, you're more likely to do that in the privacy of your own from a light fixture or a sturdy joist.

Finding a sturdy branch to throw a rope around seems like a lot of work for a feeling that's usually transitory. Whenever I hear of someone offing themselves via tree hanging, I usually assume they got murked elsewhere and this was how the perps tried to cover it up.

What the hell is with this base?
It's a shitty duty station by reputation and I was thankful I wasn't stationed there. The area around it is a crime-ridden shithole, a lot of the units there are poorly run and they seem to deploy a lot. One of the few good points is that it's sorta close to other cooler cities like Austin, San Antonio, Dallas/Fort Worth but with the lockdowns.. I'd probably want to end myself to.
