Holy fuck! What a way to fuck up F1. Congrats!

In the old days they would still be racing while a driver was burning to death in an overturned car with another driver trying to save him and a gendarme kicking dirt on the fire.
 
"Hey you know how this race was all going to come together at the end for maximum interest, well fuck you all" - FIA.

Of course end it just as they pass the DRS and any overtake zones.

I stopped watching and was reading news and saw this happened at start of Lap 3 to Lawson. They were Marshalls. Story on F1Fanatic which is where I grabbed the pic from.

I hope for some serious penalties for whoever is in charge of marshaling over this. Absolute amature hour.

Reddit are defending to the death that the VSC was absolutely needed because some marshals were an inch past the barriers while the Williams was behind them.

allah forgive me but i agree with russel. toto must be smoking crack or something, they should have swapped drivers like 8-10 laps earlier. russel posting fastest laps while catching talibantonelli and then being stuck behind him while being chased by piastri is genuinely mind boggling. was fun watching him bitch though.
i wanna see the lewis thing again before i decide, either way i'll probably still think 10s is too harsh.
piastri did well to salvage more points towards the end
poor showing from williams
FIA ruined a potentially great finish.

all in all a decently entertaining race plus we got rio to look forward to in 2 weeks, hell yeah.

There might be some shit raised (rightfully) over this. Like I said above, they used to keep racing while cars were burning and people were on track. How safe do you need to be?

It’s stupid. The absolute lowest speed corner on the entire track where no one was making overtake attempts. There was no reason for a VCS or a safety car.
