I am worried about this one. I’m glad he’s conscious and talking but it still looks like it could be a bad injury if he couldn’t get out of the car under his own power.

Haas not having a lot of luck with their drivers this year.

When the crash reaches a certain threshold, they usually go for a full-seat extraction to protect the spine and neck. It's what they did with Ralf when he crashed in the US track.

But if Mick's injuries are anything worse than a sprained ankle this race needs to be shitcanned, the track bulldozed over and never spoken of again. This track is a hazard to its drivers and a shame to F1 for how blatantly it sportswashes literal barbarians.
 
word from Haas is that Mick is okay but going to hospital for some precautionary checks. The fact that they're still not replaying the crash tells me something might be wrong. They'll replay Max's crash at silverstone all day long because they knew he got out fine after that. If there is ambiguity they don't want to show it.
 
Looks like Ham went chasing the wrong set up today, did no one think/say this car looks too slow?

Tomorrow has the potential to be carnage. It could be one of those races where keeping your head down and staying out of trouble will net a driver a decent haul of points.

The spectacle of race marshals running back to the barriers with armfuls of Haas is incongruous in a sport that is driven by technology and innovation, I am amazed that there isn't a bespoke vehicle, or a machine slightly more advanced than a broad broom, that can be used to quickly and efficiently remove carbon fibre or other debris from a circuit.

I am sure that, in common with a lot of technology developed within F1, it would have broader, real-world applications.
 
There's only going to be 19 cars tomorrow. I doubt Mick will be cleared and they can'tswitch driver after qualifying, besides I doubt Haas will build a new car in time.

Only one merc powered car in Q3 but ItS tOtAlLy NoT tHe EnGiNe...

I was wondering about that too. Maybe the Saud's don't want too much emphasis on how shit their track is by replaying a totally run-of-the-mill spin turning a car into fist-sized chunks?

I was just about to post a comment saying that Leclerc is a total beast to turn out a pole-lap like that and then the Mexican Minister of Defense just swoops in and manages to go even quicker. First pole for Perez, too. Super fucking neat-o.

Looks like Leclerc got a car that's worthy of him, though. If he gets the title, that's fine with me.
