Keep in mind, these conditions are not the same as they will be in Q and race. It will be cooler. FP2 was the most representative session. Also, these were basically one or two hot laps, not a stint and certainly not race distance. Merc could do well in Q, but then be shit in a race stint.
That doesn't mean Merc wasn't sandbagging all this time or found a fix overnight, but still hoping that Q goes similar to what happened in FP2.
Perhaps Merc doesn't work so well under cooler conditions? Still very early days yet as to how the entire season will play out, but at least we aren't sitting here talking about Merc drivers and Ver finishing 1, 2 and 3. At least at this point. Maybe we will in 3 hours! LOLOL
