I really like the Isle of Man's flag. The triskelion has endured as a Manx symbol for a long time. It's a unique flag, it catches my attention every time I see it.
The flag of the Celtic nations however has a lot going on. I know they're trying to represent everyone, but damn.

This is the only valid state flag that's just a seal on a blue background. Illuminati as fuck.
Yeah, the Pan-Celtic flag kind of sucks because instead of trying to implement elements from all the flags in an aesthetically pleasing way, they just took a cross section of each flag.
On the other hand, Siol Nan Gaidheal, a Scottish/Gaelic separatist political group, has a pretty badass looking flag that not many people know about.
The symbol in the middle is a stylized "A" for "Alba." Siol Nan Gaidheal is really protective of their flag. They don't sell copies of it, and every "official" copy is hand stitched (with tons of variants). A while back their Facebook page was griping about people making bootleg printed versions of their flag. There's a practical reason for this, since they don't want people using their flag for gay ops, although it's probably not very effective since the press smears them with all kinds of shit their group didn't actually do and calls them Nazis despite them condemning Nazis on their website. I doubt journos will give a shit if someone has an "official" Siol Nan Gaidheal flag or a knockoff.

What about the variant with the coat of arms on it? It seems to be a very popular one.
It's a bit inconsistent what colors it's supposed to have, or the size of the seal though.

I know people make fun of Liberia's county flags for looking like MSPaint, but at least they're not that top right design. That one just screams "rectangle tool".

Venezuela has had a ridiculous amount of different flags.
Most of them are variations on the same yellow, blue, red theme though, except for this one:
No, this isn't from Nazi occupied Venezuela. It was actually the flag of the country very briefly from 1813 to 1814.
Here's the incredibly shitty flag that came before that one:
Speaking of flags that look fascist but aren't, here's the flag from 1830 to 1836:
The earliest uses of stars on the flag were these blue ones across the top stripe. Each only lasted a few years, with two flags in between the first and second.
Then came the "cluster of stars" flags.
Followed by the "ring of stars" flags. I actually really like these ones. Might be my favorites.
And then all the variations of the "arch of stars" flags, the last of which is still used today.

I didn't notice that before, but it's a hell of a political metaphor. Now we just need an updated flag with the horse as a decaying corpse.

Kagosima Prefecture (鹿児島県) has perhaps the coolest flag I've seen. The design has an awesome menace to it while the slight chip on the side suggests some kind of battle wear or scarring. I also get AI god vibes from it. For all this nuance the design is still simple and clean. The only downside is I don't think it could really work as a banner if you turned it on its side.

An interesting one which I don't have a decent size on hand is Ooita Prefecture (大分県). Strong Resident Evil vibes and not really like anything I've ever seen. Also reminds me of a sci-fi reticule.
One more interesting one is Chiba Prefecture (千葉県). Something about the caltrops design and color palette is just really peculiar. I like the royal blue, though.
