I like this design overall, but I'd like it better if the white stripe's top was the same as the bottom. The jagged mountain range looks weird to me. There would still be two white points to stand for Utah's mountains.
I really like it when a country's territorial flags all or mostly share the same style. See:
America shouldn't wholly ditch the seal-on-a-bedsheet style, just better it by simplifying the seals and decorating the bedsheets' sides and edges. The new flags of Mississippi and Utah have already done this, hopefully the next state to change its flag will pick a like design and start a trend.
The last state I heard of that was thinking about changing its flag was Massachusetts (that's Injun for Massive Jew Tits) but that was about two years ago. The deadline for a proposal has passed and the state government has changed since. Seems like they've forgotten, but the topic could come up again.

Estado Español (rebel forces), Bandera de Renovacion Espanola (non-carlist monarchists), FET y de las JONS (fascist syndicalists), CEDA (clerical fascists), Carlistas/Comunión Tradicionalista (carlists)
My favorites are the Popular Front and FET y de las JONS.

That video and the Florida talk got me started on some potential reworks. Nothing's really striking me design wise, so you guys get all of my assets so far.
Speaks for itself
One of the only castles in the new world and a "star fort" Castillo de San Marcos is an iconic landmark of St. Augustine. (Red from Spanish empire flag)
I get it, I get it, "muh seals!" but the Seminole lady droping flowers (for which the state gets its name) is fitting and could be extracted. I might do the same with the rising sun and simplified rays on the right.
Last but not least the sun and conch from the flag of the Conch Republic.

Very nice.
Look how well the Seminole lady fits. I mocked up one with some parts of the sun. A subtle nod to Florida's beaches uniquely offering both sunrises and sunsets over the water. Last one is one I dislike the longer I look at it but I'll be damned if I don't find a way to use that shape. Pain in the ass to lift it off a map.

Maybe a Red/gold/white recolor? At least for the flowers. The top three are hella ambiguously shaped.
Better but I still like the full color even if it breaks das rulez.

Time for a pallet cleanser.
This is the Flag of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Blue Saltire Flag taken from the Confederate Battle Flag as befits a city that got fought over repeatedly in the civil war. Golden feathers of the Prince of Wales, Prince Frederick, to whom the city was named. The Golden Crown of Charlemagne, taken from the Badge of the House of Hanover, for whose family the streets of the city were all named.
And Done. Nice symbolism, simple, very recognizable, no words. The Charlemagne crown is my one gripe. It's an A tier flag, but could S without it
They also put the Flag ON their Seal, rather then the Seal ON their flag. Thank god.

The solid blue flags with a seal and state name would be cool if it were uniform throughout the USA.

Just replace the green abortion that is the WA flag with the Doug flag. It's an instant improvement and will cause Oregonian seething as a bonus. Let them make that yellow beaver their official state flag if they ever feel like updating it.
