Five Nights At Freddy's

I don't know if anybody mentioned this, but there is something you should know.

There's a cutscene you only get the first time you play the first night.

This doesn't look like Freddy at all.

Neither teaser images have Freddy's cheekbone or hat. It's obviously in disrepair based on the felt's cracking texture. It's standing in a straight upright position, facing towards the camera with a tilted head, this might not be a side-view of the thing. Perhaps Fazbear's Pizza had another Animatronic, Freddy was redone (again), or this is the original Freddy, the granddaddy Freddy? It explains the whole "Only One" premise.

So going along with the "only one left" theory, what if Freddy from FredBear's is the last original animatronic and he starts making mashed together monstrosities with old parts to hunt the player down?

I really wonder where this game is going to take place.

Oh shit, looks like Bonnie and Golden Freddy did the fusion dance. That thing looks zombified!

I like the idea of the place being a horror attraction now. It also appears that the map is now much more linear.

Personally, I like that FNaF 3 appears to be stripping itself down and rebuilding the whole "evil killer robot" angle from the ground up again like the first one and is nothing - so far - like the second. FNaF 2 really was just taking the more annoying parts of the first game and extending them so it was more of a list of chores simply to "play" the game (and forget trying to track nine animatronics moving around at once, the whole idea of security cameras was utterly pointless beyond the forced Puppet safeguard resetting).

Also interesting that it's Golden Bonnie now, making it three-for-three that the focal character for the teaser promotions is the bunny and not actually Freddy. Only this time it's not a prequel, at the end of the trailer the box-o-parts is behind Golden Bonnie in the office so this isn't the first restaurant...unless it's all coming full circle and it's the true original Freddy Fazbear location?

Those drawing eyes, though, holy fuck what is wrong with them all being so pronounced. Obviously intentional, but it's FAR creepier than the drawings from the previous games and those were pretty fucked up to begin with!

One guy puts it "Not enough money Scott?" since this is the third game. The whole discussion may as well be nothing but "should have new mechanics" and "you're toxic" because someone said this should get new mechanics since the second game felt like DLC and it may just be nothing more than like COD and AC games. Honestly, we don't know what is going on the development so for all we know, the game could have some new mechanics in it. Even then, it would be nice if the dev used a new engine but he is more familiar with clickteam fusion which (irc from an interview he had) he said he'd use more because he is very familiar with it.

I do want Scott to mix things up a bit, but retain the basic skeleton of gameplay. I really like the stationary survival horror that made FNaF so popular, but it'd be awesome if he changed and/or added new gameplay ideas. He did a bit of that in 2 by adding in the music box, for instance, which I did like. Personally, I liked 2 just fine, even if it, as some people put it, "seemed too much like DLC".

To be fair, while I do overall hold the opinion FNaF is not going to be sustainable at the rate these games are being churned out for what they ultimately are in the physical sense - the fact Scott just dumped the whole second game a month earlier than scheduled for S&G after a minor Steam error showed the turnaround time for FNaF 2 was almost non-existent after the decision to make it happened, even if it's basically just the first game with slightly different mechanics anyway - I can't fault Scott for doing so. He has his bottled lightning and he's going to need to milk it like this in order to keep it going as long as he can (seriously FNAF is printing money for him every time a youtuber plays it) until the hype finally dies down, so the simple background coding structure he's familiar with and the low-budget nature of the games he can keep churning them out so long as they bring enough new shiny stuff to the table to retain audience interest. Or at least until Markplier finally becomes inoculated to all the jump scares and it stops being fucking hilarious watching him shit his pants.

Enh, to be perfectly fair, the music box/Puppet actually just replaced Foxy as being "the thing" that forces players into viewing the monitors and allow the animatronics to prep for jumpscares.

I suppose you're right. I guess I didn't think about it that way, since the Foxy thing in the first game only took a split second to do every now and then. The music box took up more time, so it felt more urgent. You're correct, though. It's a parallel concept.

Having seen the trailer and the apparent premise, I'm finding FNAF3 to be currently underwhelming. One of the golden rules of sequels is to provide higher stakes or something entirely new to change it up. I loved the second game because it increased the difficulty early in and kept you at attention at who's coming from where. From what it seems of the third one, it's being downgraded to just one animatronic. Not asking for 20 animatronics this time. I just want to know if the gameplay is going to be changed up. The game's got one freaking doorway to the office.

Do we have to slow down that freaky animatronic or at least distract it to keep it from coming in? Are there alternate objectives instead of just waiting out till 6AM? It's all speculation at this point. If it's going to be more of the same, it's going to be a bust. Scott can't just do the same gameplay mechanics up to "Five Nights at Freddy's VIII: Freddy Takes Manhattan" and expect the cash to keep coming. Either Scott is keeping things secret for surprises or his tap of potential for the franchise is running dry.

I'll be amused if he was lying about the 'one' animatronic to trick people into security until a two headed Mangle/Foxy hybrid swallows their soul from behind.

Considering hallucinations, that could be a nice way of bringing in a fresh breath of air. Make it look like one of the animatronics are getting you but it really serves to mess with you. Perhaps there could be more than one door for it to appear but really, we may as well wait and see.

Hardly.

Look at the map, there is one path from the office out to the end of the map graphic. Between cams 9 and 10 there is a white triangle pointing down, suggesting an entrance. If GB starts there, it could conceivably work its way down the corridors to the office.

Of note is how this second picture has what looks like a red light going off, this same red light is not present in the same scene at the end of the trailer.

Also static Golden Freddy in the entrance because Scott is such a troll.

EDIT: I do honestly love the trailer music, though, both for FNaF2 and now 3. I wonder if I can email Scott for the soundfiles. Wouldn't mind having them on my smartphone's shuffle playlist to spice things up a little.

Perhaps it simply starts out that way, but the animatronics break windows or holes in the wall to crawl through as the game goes on?

The first time I saw it I thought it looked like a guy in a suit, which made me think that it was actually the killer from all the stories and not just an animatronic. But now that I've seen still pictures of it I think it's just a REALLY fucked up mascot. Either way I hate it and I hope it burns

Might just be the old Fredbear's diner! Bonnie just being left to rot for way too long. It is pretty moldy looking. Given the teaser image of the toy lines' parts, I wonder if the active bots in this game will gradually start taking stuff from that box to use, ending up with a mishmash of the spare parts. Like rotting bonnie(?) taking stuff from, say, toy bonnie (face) and mangle's hook or something.

Or even use those parts to "revive" the toy crew... albeit in a more-than-likely mishmash manner.

I can imagine Bonnie somehow getting into the box and adopting a new tactic with the item he takes and making you learn to counter it. Adopting part of the personality of whichever animatronic part he takes. It's just with one animatronic, it'd really cut down the mad multi-tasking of the first two games. But I'll believe that there'll be a reason to watch the cameras (and apparently manage audio recordings and vents according to the screenshot) instead of just watching the one door and closing off whenever he gets too close.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm now curious with how the game ends plot-wise. If this will be the game that will remain the latest in the Five Nights timeline. Bonnie could get scrapped and finally end their reign of terror or just continue to spook around places for eternity. FNAF4 is likely to happen (come on, the franchise is Scott's cashcow) and it will either be a prequel or another sequel (Freddy in Space).

I'm hoping they try to implement the cameras a bit better since they were practically useless in 1 and only for one room in 2. I'm thinking maybe the animatronics could give no warning at all before inviting themselves into the security room and possibly having multiple entry points so you'd basically have to keep checking the cameras or something.
