One of the ideas floated for the Elm Street reboot was implying, if not outright stating, Freddie was innocent of the crimes he'd been accused of - a weird, creepy dude but not actually a rapist or murderer. Of course, burning him alive made him think fuck it, so he went murdering after coming back.

To be fair, Popgoes, TJOC and Fnaf Plus were a lot less significant then Fnac 4 and Onaf 3 which the latter we still don't have too much info on and the former's developer talked about the Fanverse in a bad light with it not being the best of managed.
Bringing back to the three other contenders, Popgoes is the biggest one but it is greatly overshadowed by two of the others getting sequels and it not going that route even if there's a cancelled sequel game.
It along with TJOC and Fnaf Plus are going the remake route, Evergreen looks pretty well done and Arcade's remake(?) is just kinda there, don't know about the TJOC one other then the Hallween DLC won't be included for some reason and Fnaf Plus with it looking like just a remake of Fnaf one.
But I personally feel like the real problem here is a shift in the community and times along with Scott not making any more games, the whole Security Breach debacle.
