there was no vision, the whole thing was a shameless cashgrab, they were barely trying from day 1, only season so far that had grim vibes on day 1
It had the highest production quality of any season, and seemed to have the most planning as well. They just really really fucked up casting, which is what I blame on causing Sam to totally phone it in.

looking at the nico tweet sam liked on x, it doesn't have him tagged. the only thing tagged was #fishtanklive, which means sam was most likely scrolling that tag. this is good news for those of us in the "fishtank needs sam hyde" camp.
I'm not sure it "needs" him, but I do think s5 would have been different if Sam was there to tard wrangle Bashir every time he attacked women. Much like Jimmy got the "don't rape people" talk I think Bashir would've gotten sat down by Sam and grilled on why he attacks women. Which would've been kino.

that said I actually really liked seeing Bam on the up and up and hope he makes an appearance in s6 in some way.

The only 'plan' the Wiggers had for S4 was shuffling the fish arround 3 houses which they didn't have the permits to film in.

Other than that, the fish were left to their own devices, which annoyed the Wiggers who cosntantly had to moderate.

Freddy is mad that James Drake doesn't want him sharing his phone number, so he leaks it on a Tweet

idk, there might have been a plan that we just didnt see come to full fruition, the season did get shutdown pretty quick and the wiggers were likely dealing with all that behind the scenes.

For what it's worth, during S5 Jet admitted anything they'd hyped for S4 was them trolling, so no there wasn't really a grand master plan. I stand by what I posted when it was happening that they knew they were getting run out of RI and sent a "Fuck It" season to see how far they get. Does that make a cashgrab? Kind of, but it ended up being really good, for what it was.

I wonder if the Ricky Berwick shirt is still hanging there...

Jet told Freddy not to do anything interesting on the 3rd night because “production needs to sleep” after nothing had even happened the previous night.

I rewatched some old Freddy S4 "content" post-Rachel and I forgot how much I disliked him
Freddy is great content but also a genuine scumbag. To the point where of all the fish who've been on the show he's probably the last one I'd want to ever meet.
Just feels like you'd run the risk of your wallet getting stolen even being near him.

I get why people want him back on the show but I actually don't like it when one person dominates the entire space, be it Rachel or Sam. I thought it would've been cool if they had done what I thought they were gonna do in S5 and just have Sam pop up on the indian mobilebot.

Edit: I also think S5 was good in that it didn't have (almost) any of the retards come back aka Ricky Berwick, Fatty, etc. even if I hated Dumbgay.
Unpopular opinion but I think Dumbgay is a good actor.

I'm replying to a lot of different thoughts so I'm not gonna directly quote anyone but I feel like S5 was a genuine attempt and they were actually trying but they knew off the rip that without Sam they were going to be facing an uphill battle.

The reason I think they genuinely wanted it to work was because when they were able to declare a winner AND give Burt his check there was some raw emotion on display and Jet had said something like "We're finally able to award a winner a prize after this entire time..." like it mattered to finish a season.

I do think that in terms of "Creative" they really need a direction. It seemed like they wanted to be less poo-poo-pee-pee house at the start and I kind of like the idea of a roleplay structure a lot. It wasn't Blood Games but it was unique and interesting to have an economy and a store and personal squabbles over challenges. Then they felt like they NEEDED to revert back to the poop wars and honestly the way S5 transitioned DID create more tension but it felt like at that point nobody wanted to stoop to that level. You had Bashir, James, the Twins and Landon in the house and they're all just... not assholes? Jet (and Sam) really need to define WHAT exactly they want Season 6 to be and if Goldstriker is back then perfect just let anything go and let him dictate the pace and tone. That's what an authority figure should do.

It probably does feel like a major set back, getting the entire house in Georgia set up "perfectly" and having it so that they could just run shit out of that house would have been great but Georgia ESPECIALLY is very strict about production in their state. You can't broadcast anything without running their stupid "Made in Georgia" logo. The Walking Dead, Wrestlemania, a few other programs come to mind that have been there and had that stupid logo. Hopefully things work out. There's a large commercial property in Fall River's industrial district (I am local) that just came off the market and I wonder if it was them. It's so remote and out of the way, the closest thing is an Amazon facility...if it was them it'll be perfect
