they mentioned Jet had some kind of... emergency? Death of someone close to them? Did anything public ever come of that? Or was that running cover for themselves because they were getting kicked from the Georgia house?
No I'm pretty sure all of that was fake, Laura said those messages weren't real. Some people speculated it was either Ellie or Johnny that passed because Ellie wiped her account and basically ghosted all of her simps and Johnny has been having very serious health problems recently, but he still posts on 4chan, also i don't think they were "kicked" from the house but just banned from filming any fishtank-like content there since Mints and Richie are currently living there. I forgot to mention but Jet is fine, he was on the live with Ben, it seems like they've just been busy trying to get the show started back in Rhode Island.

If Sam is actually back on Fishtank then we'll get it sooner than a year, say what you will about him but he can actually get shit together decently.
Sam has paused PGL and back to doing his low effort gaming content and working on the next season of MDE so its likely he would be able to.
Its just really on if they are able to get a house I guess.

I recorded the twin's first stream after the tank (April 20th), which they did on tiktok or IG. I only shared it in sneedchat cause I couldn't be bothered re-encoding it to a smaller size but now that the site should do it for me, here it is:

Drake says that production told him not to collaborate with Frank after wining season 5 for specific reasons that are being kept secret.

I... Don't have hopes for Sam. The fish were a little too intimidated by him, and when he was having a bad day: everyone was having a bad day. I think S5 worked because he wasn't there to burn it down when something went wrong, or berate the smaller fish.

Ben went live on Instagram earlier and said that they were kicked from Georgia for the same reasons as last time but are now leasing an office space in Rhode Island and moving the show back home. He mentioned they were also pretty depressed running the show without their friends around (which includes Sam). They wanted to have fun running the show and felt it would be better to move back and work on the show with all the guys from the office instead of just him and Jet alone in the south. Also it looks like they are renting an apartment for him and Jet to do light streams and give updates on the future of the show. Ben will apparently be streaming AC Black flag tomorrow on Kick.

I'm choosing to believe that this is true (i don't want to doom) and hope they aren't just being lazy but if it is true it means that Sam will likely be back as the host next season along with a completely new setting in a warehouse this time. It also seems like the entire crew except for Mints and Richie has been back at Sam's office studio for a while now.
As long as it's not in a town run by Karens they have a chance. This shit came out of left field and was not on my bingo card for the future of Fishtank. I have mixed feelings about Sam, but god damn he can deliver when he's motivated. I hope he returns in some capacity.

the key to motivating Sam, I think, is that he needs an enemy. His old targets of le heckin wokerinos aren't really a significant force anymore so he kinda seems to just be treading water until he gets something to challenge. He reminds me of a gorilla that way, or a male lion but those are majestic and badass and so it feels wrong to compare them to Sam

I do not want Sam back. Just look back on his Season 4 performance. The Sam of seasons 1-3 isn't around anymore, he has no interest in Fishtank anymore.
His season 4 performance was dogshit, I'm not going to deny that. But I think the show's missing a certain something when he's not on it... and enjoying himself. If Sam's having a bad day, he's going to make sure the whole planet knows it and feels just as bad as him. To an extent, it's what makes Fishtank what it is, but on the other hand, sometimes he would just shoot an idea down 5 minutes in without giving the fish's brains to understand exactly what he wanted. Maybe the time off has been enough for him to recharge his batteries, but I don't know. It would be annoying for him to show back up next season and immediately fall into being an asshole just to be an asshole.

Sir this is New England so unless they’re planning on filming in like South Bridge or Bridgeport you’re going to get Karens.

Although, there’s shit like Mystic Seaport and its gayer relatives in Rhode Island where you can charter old timey boats. I want to see autists hot cotting in 4’ long hammocks and waking up to pump the bilgewater eating nothing but hard tack and drinking grog.

Sam always did thrive on controversy. You could see it during parts of S3 and S4 when he suddenly became a hell of a lot more motivated.

As for the wokies, they're diminished, but far from defeated. And they're deeply entrenched in blue state institutions, especially in places like New England. They just can't cancel and effectively deplatform dissidents like they used to in the 2010's.

The show does need an alpha retard that the fish respect though, just to keep things a bit grounded. Drake and Bam and Basir kind of fulfilled this role, all at different times or together, but the authority figure/host would ideally be consistent and unchanging.
I vote Burt.

maybe the time off built his fondness back.
