Sam said they kicked Jin because they were getting annoyed at Jin and Daniel, and Daniel's stocks were higher, so they kept him. It seems to me they were kicking Jin to send a message to Daniel that he needs to start kowtowing to production.

So in other words it's literally because of Jet's ego. The two guys who challenged him in the lightest way possible, and one gets kicked and the other warned.
