This season jumps between being genius and making really strange decisions. The only way eliminating Smack like this makes sense is if Sam and Jet were telling the truth and her sister really did call saying a family member had a medical emergency in an attempt to get Smack off the show. They had a legal obligation to tell her. This is probably the most likely scenario imo.

If that's not true, which is a possibility, then this is a really strange example of mercy killing which we haven't seen before. People think Smack acts wholesome, but so what? That makes her persevering through Fishtank far more commendable. Josie was thought to be wholesome too. Plus, the fanbase gets robbed of seeing a lib like Smack be confronted and having to overcome those confrontations.

Eliminating contestants suddenly isn't uncommon, but there needs to be some kind of payoff. For example, Ted being carried off was sudden, but it was funny. Eliminating Smack in such a quiet way with literally no build up, tension, or shocking method gets rid of any payoff and can feel really unsatisfying. Which makes Production willingly choosing this route seem unlikely.

It's a shame we're not going to see what Smack is truly capable of now that she's eliminated. Just another "what if" in Fishtank history. If Production is lying and just wanted to mercy kill her, it might be one of the worst decisions yet. It's like the Brian elimination. What's the point?
It was 100% a mercy kill. The other night ago in confessional with Sam he told her she could stop trying to be mean and earlier they ran a poll asking if they get out Smack before Fishtank started because she's too nice.

She's an annoying libtard but she was my favorite girl this season just because she seems like a genuinely nice person. F

I agree, 100% mercy kill.

Smack is simply not built to handle Fishtank, having her might have been a potential liability.

jet ruined the smack hiding bit by allowing a TTS through saying "She may be hiding in multiple spots" just as everyone came down so they all heard.
It's completely irrelevant because the retard just told everyone. He thinks he wont fail the fake-challenge by saying "I get to decide to tell you guys or not" without understanding that he just told them.
