She talked about going on a trip to Japan as well. Which would be abnormal for a poor family. Maybe they had money at one point, but blew it all. That is something poor families tend to do. Could be that the family is poor but since she lives at home, her personal expenses are low. So she can work her minimum wage job and afford to go to conventions and travel to Japan since she doesn't spend much otherwise. There are plenty of people like that.

I think he's swapped. Current Vance has been covering his face and avoiding talking ever since Vance came back from the basement. Perhaps his performance has been so good I am now suffering from delusions, not sure.
