Bringing in someone like Daniel Larson or Cobes early on would likely be a mistake IMO.

Their personalities, lore, fandoms, etc. are too “big” and would distract from the show itself. Instead of Fishtank it would become “It’s Cobes!!! Look at what Cobes is doing!!!” With these types of shows, the concept is more important than any single character (especially in the first season, where it’s important to prove the concept).

Imagine if on Survivor Season 1 you had 15 unknowns…and Charlie Sheen. That could be entertaining, but it would also become The Charlie Sheen Show.

He was even more optimistic than that. In this part of the basement stream where he's calm and collected he says "the bill for hosting the video and the chat and the website is probably gonna be another thirty thousand by the end of the six weeks." He thought it was going to be $30k for the whole 42 days, meanwhile it was actually $30k for only 3 days.

He also says he thinks it's not "too far-fetched" for someone to pay eight million dollars to buy the show from him. It is now that the whole operation fell apart, I can tell you that much.
